I only stayed one night at the beginning of my tour in Sri Lanka. A little disappointing stay, a bad room, only the bed with mosquito bin can be saved. A rather improvised bathroom with a plastic door. The structure itself is a little decadent.

The first one's not good.

We had a booking here for a room with AC and balcony. When we arrived, they gave us another room without a word of explanation. I showed them my booking and they simply said all rooms with balcony were full. No explanation, no apology, not even offering a price reduction. The staff was neither friendly nor understanding, they only told us „you must cancel“ so they wouldn‘t have to pay the booking platform.
I don‘t recommend this place!

Nice stay and friendly staff. Breakfast was nice and more than enough. The room had enough space for backpacks and stuff and the bathroom was quite big also. 
Unfortunately, the room really smelled moldy/musty. The mosquito net had few huge holes, so it didn’t do its job and we had a lot of bites. But as an compromise, the owner didn’t charge us for the A/C usage of our last day. 
The Point is located directly across the street from the beach and you are in 5-10 minutes walking distance from the supermarket, Cafés, restaurants and bars.

Nice stay!

Had a few nights here and can’t recommend it enough. Nice room with ac, big bed, balcony and a good breakfast. The family that run the place are really friendly and cool. It is super close to the beach and three different surf spots within walking distances. 

Great stuff 

I stayed only the first night of my tour in Sri Lanka, fortunately. I say fortunately because first you can 't call it a hotel, and a room in a house. The bathroom was horrible and a small room, I had to ask for toilet paper because it was missing. The only positive thing is that it is close to the sea and convenient for hiking like whale watching. Breakfast not even made because I woke up too early to go hunting whales.

We recently used the point surf shop to hire a board in mirissa, my partner is a good surfer and paid a fair (and steep by Sri Lankan prices) amount to hire a board. He did not damage the board in any way. The board was extremely old, battered and damaged and once my partner had finished using the board the owner tried to blame previous damage on him, you could see the board had been repaired so many times it was so obvious it was old damage and NOT my partner. He came to our accommodation and started to threaten my boyfriend with violence and told him to “stay away from the surf or else” and said we were lucky his small daughter was nearby or he would hurt my partner. He knew all along that we had caused no damage to his board and was trying to extort money from us. He acts a nice man but is fast to turn on you and become very threatening and aggressive. We moved accommodation to get away from him as he made us feel so unsafe. Stay away!!!!!

Staying two nights in this place that you can't call a hotel, the only good thing about it is that it's close to the sea, dirty, poorly managed, except for the terrace where one night I watched a tropical rain while smoking a cigarette and drinking a coconut liqueur.

Uh, yeah.

It's also nice in appearance, with a room with a colorful wall and a balcony. The people who run it, it's worth saying, were very kind, smiling and hospitable. Very close to the beach. But it's really all very approximate: a bed with a normal big sheet to do as a blanket that every night moved making you sleep directly on the mattress (...), two single sheets instead of a double to cover yourself, bathroom that smelled of sewage impesting the whole room. Not very pleasant.

I stayed two nights in this one that can't be called a hotel...I'm not demanding and I'm fit enough for everything but here I've really struggled!!! the bathroom was really fatigued with the shower that dropped water! the bed then had a very dirty uncertain under the sheets that slipped away during the night. not to mention breakfast... I asked for milk and they brought me pouches of powdered milk! one afternoon it was raining and in front of the entrance there was an incredible pool of water.

It must be avoided!!!!!

We had a very relaxing time staying here. The room was very cosy and clean with good WIFI reception, and we enjoyed the breakfast prepared with fresh fruits each morning. If you like surfing, the beach and main surf break is literally less than a minute away, so you can quickly check the surf and paddle out when its on. Another plus is that there are plenty of restaurants serving fresh seafood nearby. Stay here and enjoy the great vibe of the place.
