We had a studio apartment, which was accessed through the garden.  The room was a good size. The bathroom was nice with really good shower and the small kitchenette was useful.  The studio had its own small balcony.  They were helpful in communicating about arrival times and leaving key when reception was unmanned; however, we had to telephone as we did not realise studio was reached through different door and wondered why our key did not open door (of apartment with same number!)  Being set back off the road through the garden, the studio was quiet and we would recommend this accommodation - it was very good value for money.

This place is excellent. The Manager-receptionist is so helpful and friendly.

It is excellent value - very, very clean and within a few metres of some excellent dining places - turn left out of the apartamentos and it is either the first or second bistro on your left - the eating area is at the back - this place is really good!

i would highly recommend this place - I stayed there three nights - the title apartamentos can be misleading - I was extremely happy with this choice of accommodation!

This place is excellent - its a great base for exploring El Golfo

This hotel is very centrally located, on the main street near to restaurants beaches and supermarkets. We stayed there for 10 days in a room with a kitchen. It has some small mistakes of course, not all the rooms has good quality internet, some defects in the rooms but we think it is worth the money and we felt like home. That s why we did not change the hotel. If you have any problem, the owner Milko is ready for help always. See u next year Milko :)

Feel like home, worth the money

Stayed here 2 days.  Had a 2 bedroom apartment.  It on on the main street so it is near all the shops and bars that are in the town.  The apartments where clean and spacious.  I tried the wifi and it did not work but only tried once as I have my own wifi.  There is a nice bar next door with very stong wifi.  The local bus station is a 10 minute walk.  The Island for a small place has a great bus and very cheap bus service.  The bad side is the bus service does not really operate after noon Sat/Sun.  The town also has a few taxis.  I enjoyed the Island and hope to go back again soon.

Worth the price

The Apartamentos are located on the main street of the village of Tigaday, with a few restaurants and shops. The bus station is in walking distance.

We stayed in studios on the backside of the place, overlooking a courtyard. The rooms are of a good size, with a small kitchen and a balcony. It is all basic, but there is all which is necessary. And it is good value.

The lady in charge of this familiar place is very friendly (in fact there are two ladies, who take over in turns for one year each time). The reception is hardly ever attended. 

There is a restaurant attached, also called 'Frontera', which was run this time by two young easy-going, but efficient Venezuelan ladies. On a previous visit the restaurant was called 'La Gran Muralla' and run by a Chinese. Here we usually had dinner, while breakfast we prepared in our studios, since we were off early for quite long walks in this hiker's paradise island. The restaurant is in a quiet backroom, while at the front is a busy bar, frequented by local workmen.

There was no WiFi in the rooms, but in the restaurant.

The studios are a good base for excursions around the El Golfo. A few days are enough, since neither Tigaday nor the Apartementos Frontera can be really called a place for prolonged holidays.
