We spent a few nights in Gunsan and set up at the Oscar Suites. The reception was very helpful and treated us welcomed from the first second.  Our AC did break down once, but we were upgraded within a few minutes.
The rooms were very nice and quite modern in design and layout (our windows were facing toward the water; these seem to be larger).  The room included Avery cool gravity shower (hope that is the right term) and also a jacuzzi. I used the latter but it was not large enough for we're fern adults. 
The beds were nice and hard and with the AC on, we did not hear the street noises.
Breakfast was fairly western and as long as you ask for a few EXPRESSOS you get a decent cup of coffee. They served scrambled eggs, fairly lean bacon and a few other warm dishes as well as a traditional Korean soup that tasted very well. 

Lat but least, parking is good and mostly covered so you will not get wet when checking in or out

If you visit Gunsan on business, this hotel is the only one that locates close to the industrial estate of Gunsan with an international standard.  The owner is very helpful and always takes care of his guest.  The friendly staff always try to help you as much as they can.  The room is clean and spacious but you need to be aware that they do not segregate the smoking and non smoking room since it's Korean.  Tell them upon booking that you need a room without smoke smell.  They will try their best to serve you.  Don't expect much of the service from restaurant both breakfast and dinner.  They are good with Korean but just okay with Western.  If you are okay with just toast & butter with coffer then you will be okay.  Bulgogi rice should be a safe choice for dinner.  Surely this place worth of your money!

Worth of your money

Highly recommended. This will be my spot for travels to Gunsan and Iksan from now on. About 25 minutes from Iksan's KTX station by taxi.

It's a beautiful property with well abled English speaking staff. All areas that I encountered was very clean. Very accomodating, with attention to detail. Front desk even came to open my taxi door oupom departure. I also recommend the breakfast buffet at the hotel. Quite a nice spread for the price of the room.

If Oscar suites had wifi, it would be a solid 5 stars . The rooms do grave Ethernet connections though, but not very good for iPads and cell phones.

Great find in small town Gunsan. Exceeded all expectations...

There are plenty of hotel around the area. But in my humble opinion, this should be the best of it. Breakfast typical Asian style and have toast and butter. The room surely spacious and modern bathroom with transparent glass. If the room have an individual heater then it will be more better as it was snowing during my stay and the temperature controlled by centralise. Too cold to comfort.

Just 1 word to sum it up. Excellent.

Although the Hotel Staff is friendly. The first day we got there we did not have enough towel and after we ask for more they sent us a very old  towels. The hotel is in the area that have nothing to do. Bad location. 
Do not stay in this hotel. Specially if you want to have fun
