An excellent, immaculately run and beautifully clean guesthouse in a sympathetically restored and extended Cape Dutch house.  Spacious bedroom and bathroom and very comfortable beds.  Magnificent breakfast menu.  Certainly on our wish list for the next visit to Hermanus.

Lovely Guesthouse in Hermanus

Koos and Cecilia make you feel welcome, valued and safe with their conscientious approach to virus protection measures. They are very knowledgeable and helpful about the town and its facilities. We had a great three-night stay in a very good room and enjoyed top class breakfasts. We highly recommend Hermanus Dorpshuys. 

Excellent Short Break

We recently visited Hermanus for a few days and it was the first time we have stayed at this guesthouse. The breakfasts, rooms and communal facilities are all excellent and the guesthouse is spotlessly clean. The visit was greatly enhanced by the hosts who were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The guesthouse is within walking distance or a two minute drive of the town centre. It is a top quality place and you won't find a better place to stay.

Top Quality Guesthouse

Cecilia is a charming and helpful hostess. All 3 generations enjoyed the stay. The rooms we're well appointed and all necessary soaps etc were available in the bathroom. Cecilia recommended several local restaurants and went out of her way to try to book for us as it was a Saturday night. Many thanks

Beautiful Home

Koos and Cecilia Pretorius were the most gracious hosts my family and I have encountered on our travels. They were such a delight to be around with; and their suggestions in visiting the various attractions and restaurants in Hermanus was most helpful. The guest house was luxurious and homely; and we were not short of any creature comforts we are used to on all our travels.
Koos's humility and Cecilia's wicked sense of humour are a sight to behold.
On behalf of my family i would like to extend a very greatful thank you; and we will definitely be back in the next year or two to indulge in your hospitality. Thank you so very much.

full of character, the owners doing everything to make you feel at home .

stayed here our last night in SA whilst we had not stayed at  any bad guest houses on our vacation this place was fantastic , beautifully prepared rooms with many original features , no detail mist, superb host who recommended restaurants and things to see , breakfast was excellent, off road parking 15 minute stroll to the sea front

Cecelia & Koos ensure that all of their guests enjoy every comfort & are given helpful & interesting info to make the most of a stay in Hermanus. Their impeccable house is perfectly situated away from the bustle of the town centre but within easy reach by walking or driving. Such charming hosts mean we would stay nowhere else in Hermanus.

Attention to detail & Old World charm & courtesy - how delightful

This house is just so gorgeous and has a lovely vintage feel to it. It’s tastefully done up and everything about the place is very classy. There are several rooms in the house which they rent out. There is a common area for breakfast and parking is available. The host Cecelia was very helpful and shared tips and details of local attractions. You can take her help to book a whale watching tour as well as they only work with the top few operators. Breakfast was very good and our stay super comfortable.

Classy & Vintage

We stayed there for one night. The rooms and the house are very very pretty and lovely decorated. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was good. Good located to see whales and walk to the city center. The lady who runs the guest house is also very welcoming having many tips.
