Stayed here in 2009 .... Great accomodation and breakfast.... Johanne the caretaker was excellent .... Nothing was too much trouble.... Even organized trips himself.... Great host .the blouberg beach is fantastic ..... Miles of white sand .... Also Doodles on the beachfront for excellent food and beers.

Was booked via Afri-stay at Feniks 4 star boutique from 19 to 23 Feb 2020. Seriously?! Upon arrival front door stood open. Garden was in terrible state, felt like a Adams family. No reception. Nobody. Eventually a women arrived and said in broken English we must wait she shouted to the back for 'Albert'. We were not idenfied, greeted, nothing. Told to bring our car inside. 3 parkings, Albert received us at he back door and we walked through the kitchen to our room. Dirty. Dust. Ants. Green swimming pool. No fridge. No dstv. Broken air con. This was horrific. No clean towels, bedding never changed. Afri stay not helpful as the could not get hold of owner 'Fiston' No infrastructure, no maintenance, very disappointing experience. Please stay away. I lost a lot of money for a long saved trip.

Guys stay away from this hotel.To start with bed and breakfast ,the breakfast doesn't exist, walk to restaurants if you want food. The Bar is dry and dirty and there isn't a glass in sight including the fact that there are no glasses in the room so you have to drink out of a teacup. There is I kettle and a box with no teas or coffees  most of the website details are lies. My keys didn't work I got locked out and sat on the street for an hour till somebody left as the front desk person had gone out for the evening. Half open bottles of body crème and afro combs are in your bathroom as the complimentary items  The  four star must be one now .As a corporate we will never return.

4 star Rubbish

Firstly the room was not ready for us at 14:00 so we were asked to have lunch and come back. We stayed in a self catering unit, the cutlery and crockery were insufficient for 5 guests. No cereal bowls, not enough glasses, mugs and plates.  The crockery that was there was dated and some chipped. Cupboards were falling apart and dirty. There was a iron board provided but no iron, when we went to the front desk to ask for one we got 2 irons that were not working.  On the last attempt of asking for one the guy said that it looks like your clothes wont get pressed today. The people at front desk were not helpful, didn't introduce themselves and were rude. The bedding was dated and stained. The curtains were not block out curtains as a 4* guest house should have. The bathrooms were dated, dirty and not sufficient towel's for each guest. According to the grading council of SA standards this guest house does not reach a 4* standard. Im not sure how often the council checks up on guest houses, but this guest house should have lost its four star rating by now. 

Highly disappointed

Firstly there was no staff on site from 15h00 07/08/15 to our departure 10/08/2015.Our room was not clean. Bedding was dated and poor. pillows was full of saliva stains(no protectors) shower was full of mildew and toilet dirty. We has to buy sheets and pillows to enable us to sleep there. We also had to buy mildew killing cleaning materials to clean the bathroom.The general appearance of the guest house was not what was advertised on the web.The terrace was appalling the pool was green the garden was overgrown with weeds and grass the curtains in reception was not hooked in onto the rail. The kitchen was not hygenic and was used by all and sundry during the weekend. Visitors of guests was coming and going and blocked the parking area for guests. There was no bar as advertised

Long weekend stay 7/08/15- 10/08/15

You enter this 4* rated quest house through the kitchen. The pool was filled with 12 people not staying in the quest house....so the pool was out of bounce. Our bed was not made the next morning or the room cleaned. The person in charge of the quest house was not sure if breakfast was included or not. Later the night we heard that it was included. We wanted to pay with a credit card but it will cost us R87.00 extra?????? What a disastrous venue with the worst hosts you can find.This should be a 1* place. Not even a quest house. Just stay away.
