The accommodation is excellent for the price we have paid. Breakfast was good and the room was very clean. Special regards to Marius, receptionist. Very friendly and always helpful when needed assistance.

Cozy and friendly atmospehere!

I liked my single room with a balcony. It was on the 5th floor so I got to see the skies. It rained past midnight during my stay; hence, I was lulled to sleep by the sound of it. I felt comfortable in my own space. Also, this property is very near to Hlavna Stanica and there are a number of Asian restaurants on the main street. Bus 61 to airport also stops on the main street nearby. 
Wi-Fi was fast and the breakfast was cheap (2 Euros).
I chose Hostel Bratislava by Freddie because it's very close to the train station (so when i arrived, I didn't have to walk far) and the Airport Bus comes frequently at a bus stop practically in front of the property. 
Going to the old town on foot allows you to walk through the gardens of Grassalkovich Palace.

A hostel close to Hlavná Stanica

We didn't want to take a shower because the bathroom was not very clean. The next morning the toilette was dirty and full of feces because the guests obviously don't know how to clean after themselves. Moreover, wifi was rather slow.
On the positive side, we could leave our luggage for a couple of hours after checking out.
All in all, it's ok for a one night stay, but I wouldn't recommend it if it's more than that.

Only for a one night stay

Booked for one night. Pet friendly, one of the hosts from the reception was friendly and happy to give information to foreigners. Had a room for us only (three adults and one small dog), which had proper heating and was perfect for a cold night! Didn't liked the sharing toilets/bathroom, as there was no way you could close the door to the showers. No intimacy for a lady or gent! Ok for one night, but definitely needs 100% improvement and renovation for the whole building! Also need to clarify the parking information on the website! There should be available places in the front of the hostel, for guests and not have to look for a parking place late in the night! The gent who checked us in was friendly and polite, a good assessment for the business!

Short stay

Spent 2 nights here.. First night was a post midnight checking so straight to the cot.  Not easy to comment on first night as was stumbling around in the dark.. No breakfast available to just glanced at the kitchen which seemed not up to much.
Second night was a mare. Arrived back early enough as I'd been walking the city all day and had an early flight out the next morning. I was in a 4 berth room and one guy from Morocco was particularly  obnoxious by keeping the lights turned on and commenting from his religious  readings out loud. Also commenting  on the smell of me and my need to go wash and cleanse myself, Well the sometimes is a hazard of sharing with strangers. Yea me socks were dodgy after all the walking earlier. So to avoid a continuing rant by the cleansed gentlemen  I took off down stairs, had a beer from my stash with the guy. on reception and crashed in the lounge on the sofa till  my 4.30am departure.
Beds were basiic with tiny cheap single duvets. 
But it was cheap as chips at €20 for 2 nights.... So what idid I expect for that. If your want to be close to Central  Station  it's location is ideal. It for for the really cheap experience, go elsewhere e if you are expecting something  more than the very basic.

Must try harder

The hostel is located close to the main station and 20 min. walk from the old town. The building itself is fairly old. There was broken furniture scrambled all over the dark hallways. We had a private room w/ shared bathroom. At first glance it appeared simple, but ok. The furniture is relatively modern. However, the bedsheets were stained and worn. None of our reading light worked - one because there was no electric outlet nearby, and the cable of the other one had just been completely cut off. Heating couldn't be regulated and thus left the room extremely warm. Sound sleep was impossible since you would hear every noise from the neighbouring rooms and the street outside (construction site). The bathroom is a room with two toilets separated for men and women and two showers. There is no door separating the showers from the bathroom, only shower curtains. Those were really stained and one even mouldy. The cleanliness of the bathroom was generally alright, but I refused to shower at the thought of those disgusting curtains possibly touching me. My friend and I have both visited quite some hostels on this earth but we've hardly ever come across such an appaling place. If you can spare some extra money, go somewhere else.

Worst hostel experience in my life (so far)

we came here seeing the nice photos, but found a place very big /6floors/ and so certainly very hard to upkeep. things like no lights in the long corridors at daytime, no showers /only toilets/ to share, and dirty windows, stairs and shared areas do not make you feel welcome/safe. nor does the feel of the area or the unfriendly staff. however we found the room clean, the heating was on bedding clean if worn out, but that didnt make us as happy as to stay here overnight.

a bit of a surprise

To start 9 of us booked in photos didn't look too bad. when we landed it was a different story I've seen cleaners hen houses . My bed  was all black hairs and brown stains and the smell was Terrible. Everyone's was the same, disgusting place we were in a stag so said who cares we won't see much of it anyway Ill just slept on top of the quilt with all my clothes on. So we went out have good time came home went to bed to wake up to phone calls of 4 people of our group had been robbed and stories of people running about with knifes do not stay in this dangerous dirty skip. Little clean hotels and apartments for rent for the same price and really safe. When we asked to see the CCTV we were refused told they can't see the rooms. Was probably the staff that robbed us . DON'T STAY HERE

One night in hell

Positives : it was close to the main railway station.

Negatives: damaged and dirty beds (I couldn't actually lie down fully and ended up not sleeping); incredibly then mattress- I have pillows at home thicker; very old and sparse furniture; small number of toilets on each floor; dirty stained toilets; supposed cleaners opened door to clean at 5:30am; rubbish in kitchen not collected; room lock damaged.

If you are hoping to sleep or use a semi-clean bathroom do not stay here.
