Small room. But the staff is nice, friendly. I'm leaving my luggage at this hotel and enjoy my holiday. 
You get what you paid for, I and my boyfriend had a last-minute staycation was affordable good bed however toilet was moldy and cleanliness to be improving. Staff was great! Will come back if improvements been done.

We stayed at this place for one whole week during our holiday in Singapore. Undoubtedly, the best decision we made! This is a service apartment with a kitchen, and the rooms accommodate only two people. We were also provided with a huge wardrobe, a TV and a desk space to work along with a water heater. The best part was the room being spotless everyday with the bottles and tea bags replaced. Also, this place is 5 mins away from the bus stop, and a 10 min walk to the MRT. And I must mention, we made this booking through AirBnB and the owner was very helpful and friendly. Indeed a low priced, yet perfect accommodation!

small room but so relaxing. i can relax even its day time. no noise from outside. good place to stay. i recomend it specially if you have a tight budget. place is also convenient near to a buss terminal.

Cheap but needs improvement 

We where only in Singapore for a stop over so only needed a room with no frills. The Zen is good value for money. The room was comfortable, clean and just what we wanted. But there was no fridge so your water( that you need due to the heat) gets warm fast. Also would have loved a jug to make a coffee. But for a one night it was ok.

Over nighter

Bad: wifi, hygene, staff and mold. 
Positive: location, bed. 
I would stay again but only because bed is alright and location is great! Close to little india. 
If you're picky this is not the place for you, because the room has a strong odour because of the mold and cleaning products. 
General cleaning of the room is okey. 
An OK stay for a couple of nights, if the price is around 50$

ZEN ROOMS MACKENZIE: Moldy, smelly but good location location for $50.

We arrived late to Singapore to spend the night for an early flight. Took a taxi from the airport which costed around 25 SGD. It took us a while to find the place as it is not clearly stated as a hotel but as a residential area so this was a building with a small indication of the place.

We arrived and a guy took us in. He did the checkout asking for our passports, copied them and a lady took us to the 6th level. Elevator was ok but as soon as we arrived in the room I know this wouldn't be as expected. The room was fine in size but the overall look was not very appealing. It did not look mint clean but only as a motel in the US.

The lady opened the door with an old fashioned key and put a plastic tag (not a key) on the wall so the electricity was connected in the room. 2 double beds received us in the room with nothing but a blanket and a thing resembling a duvet which also did not look very clean. The matress was not uncomfortable but considering that we had been traveling for 2 days, maybe we wouldn't complain much. 

A small TV on the wall with some channels was available. A window to the street was open because weather in Singapore can be cruel, so we used the air conditioning, which took a while to cool the room.

The bathroom was not very nice but usable. The have a hose dripping a bit of water next to the toilet which is lying on the flook and that looks a bit unhealthy. No soaps but a soap dispenser and worn towels and hot water took a while to get in the shower too.

Location was not very friendly to move on the MRT so we had to walk some 5-6 blocks to get to the closest station to go to Chinatown to have dinner, although we crossed a small food market which looked quite good actually.

Very early in the morning we asked a lady on the entrance to help us find a taxi. After a long (very long) wait, a second taxi arrived (the first one did never show up). It took us to the airport for 20 SGD.

Overall, the hotel is not a terrible experience, but it is indeed not the best one in town, and the pictures you see on the advertising are very well taken. It is not a nightmare, but for sure I would not consider it again.

You get what you pay for (and yes, Singapore is expensive)

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. The room was clean and nice, but small. For a longer stay this wouldn't be my first choice. Calm area and not much noice. The staff was helpful, About 10min walk from MRT. Good Wifi.
