If we could put 1000 stars, we would have done it.

Perfect rooms (clean, spacious and greatly equipped) and perfect location.

We were welcomed with incredible kindness and friendliness. Way better than (4-star) hotels we've been to.

Th okie a hostel is in a cute location of old town. Surrounded by beautiful features. The hostel itself is clean and comfortable. 

We arrived very early and were still allowed to check in which was so convenient after traveling overnight.

Alex and dita were amazing with me all the time. They make me feel like  long time friends. The price to quality ratio is great. The owner even prepare and hear food with the guest. The breakfast was excellent with different kind of food. All the facilities were clean and my room of 8 people was very spacious and organized as well. The 2 bathrooms were comfortable. I totally recommend to stay in this place. You will not regret it. Besides, the location is outstanding!! Only 5 minutes from main square and the attractions. Thank you for all guys !!

I'm not going to lie, it's not the cleanest hostel I've stayed in. But it's one of the best hostel experiences I've had. The staff is amazing super friendly and helpfull, the location couldn't be more ideal. And the ambiance man the ambiance xD daily singing & guitar sessions in the kitchen etc. I've never had so much fun staying in a hostel. Beds were ok, in room lockers (wich I personally find important). Did I mention the ambiance? :p yeah if I come back to Sibiu I'll certainly be choosing smart hostel again :D 👍❤️

Quick comfortable, clean, nice stsy

Best experience ever.

If you want the real hostel experience and don't mind some dust. 

We booked two beds at a 6 bed dorm for one night during our stay in Sibiu. Considering the ratings on trip advisor and Hostelworld we expected a clean und comfy hostel. This was a big mistake! When entering the hostel we found ourselves in a shabby room which was supposed to be reception and communal space; the couches looked like there were several fluids spilled over them - it was disgusting. 
The dorm we were shown was only slightly better: the bunks were worn down and scratched. It was so narrow and stuffy that you could barely move around. 
They said they had two bathrooms (one of them outside and over a small bridge) which were no bathrooms but more of a public toilet. It smelled like piss and it was dirty, mouldy and wet everywhere and you had no space to put down your things e.g. while brushing your teeth. 
The last big disappointment was the included “breakfast”! First of all the tiny, dirty and damaged kitchen was way to small for all the people to have breakfast. There wasn’t even enough cutlery for 6 people at once. 
They just put a bag of white bread, almost empty jams and old cold cut in the middle of the dirty table plus some raw! eggs which you were supposed to fry yourself in a worn out pan on a poorly working gas stove. 
We spent as much time as possible outside the hostel because it was so disgusting; I can definitely not recommend this place and don’t get the positive recommendations - please, for your own sake, don’t stay at this place!

Not smart at all

Pro :  - Hostel is cheap, clean 
          - The rooms are more or less for 2 people, which is nice.
Cons :  - Bed bugs, a ton of bed bugs, the bed sheets had a lot of small red dots every morning, came home with a huge irritation due to the bugs
            - old floor, very creaky, evrey time someone walked outside the room, it felt like they were inside
            - old and small kitchen, it was always full

Cheap Hostel

Hostel is in a great location. Amenities definitely need to be improved. Only two bathrooms for the entire place. Staff is nice but not super helpful when you need information.

Additionally, the place has some sort of bug problem. Possibly a bed bug problem. I cannot say for certain, but I woke up covered in bites from on my arm and shoulder. I stayed in winter so it wasn’t mosquitoes. The staff was apologetic and offered to move my room. However, it became clear to me that did not fumigate the room properly when a prior visitor had the same issue a week before. In order to properly fumigate a room, you must close it off for a week and fumigate each day. I saw the calendar and they had booked the room every night since the previous fumigation.

Check your bed before you stay.

I've stayed in hostels on almost every continent, and I have to stay I was really disappointed after my stay here. I'm not picky about beds, but the beds here are absolutely awful and pillow is nearly as thin as a sheet of paper. My biggest gripe with this hostel is it paints an image of being some sort of upscale "hotel-like" hostel with tons of amenities, when it lacks air conditioning (A/C) and is relatively run-down.
