The surf house is in the pedestrian centre of Tocha beach. There are private and shared rooms and a communal kitchen, lving room and garden area. We stayed in one of the ensuite double rooms. The room was comfortable and in good condition with a modern shower room. The whole house is decorated in a beach style with driftwood and recycled furniture, very bright and ideal for the area. For surfers there are board storage and drying facilities at the front and back of the house, the layout works really well. The vibe in the house is very relaxed and friendly, there were a good range of ages and it is not a teenagers only party house, it was our first visit but other guests seemed to have become friends with Brian and Claudia and returned many times. Tocha in September is very quiet, there is one restaurant, one bar (both good) but many of the beach front bars etc were closed or had very short hours. Most people cooked at the surfhouse and this worked well during our visit, there are minimarkets and an actual market with stalls in the village. If you were looking for a beach holiday and don't surf Tocha could be a bit limited (out of summar season) as it is a very small village surrounded by dunes and the sea is often too rough for small children, at the time we visited there was a distict channel with strong rip currents at the beach. For surfers on the other hand there are good breaks all along the coast, some of them nearly empty, it is a good option for uncrowded, good quality surf, and Brian, the owner, is an instructor who will provide advice, together with lessons and gear rental if required. There are also interesting trips out to towns in the area and walks. Several non surfers stayed while touring or walking in the area.
