It was the lunch with the tour of Lima Peru.  We had a local cuisine that tasted very good.  The waiter was from NYC living in Peru.  I had some corn that had a very large kernels.  There was also sweet potato dish that was very excellent.  The meat I had was pork that was over done. 

Remarkably friendly and helpful management in a quiet location recognized by Limenos as safe and very appropriate for the visitor. It is convenient for the city centre too. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast just what is needed. It is 'home from home'.

We communicated with Monica over Whatsapp to make our reservation and she was responsive to our questions. Unfortunately, she does not accept credit cards, so all payments must be made by bank transfer or cash. We had to stop at a bank to pay the 50% deposit to reserve the rooms. She was helpful in arranging taxis (we needed 2 for all of our luggage) to and from the airport. 

After having stayed at a noisy, trafficky place last time we were in Lima, we were very happy to have found Posada del Parque which was on a quiet dead-end street and was within our budget. The decor is eclectic, funky, and charming. The place was clean, though it seems a bit past its prime. We did have hot water, but it only lasted briefly so we had to shower quickly. There was free wifi, though we had to get Monica's grandson to help us with the password. Since we stayed for 3 nights, they offered free breakfast which consisted of bread, jam, juice, and tea. Apparently there is only one key to each room, so they ask that you leave the key with them when you leave. 

We didn't end up using taxis, as the location was just a 15-30 minute walk from much of the tourist sites we wanted to see (Parque de la Exposicion, Plaza de Armas, Catedral de San Francisco, Santuario de Santa Rosa). There were also plenty of places to eat or buy food within walking distance. 

This was the perfect place for us for our short stay in Lima, as our priorities were quiet, price, and proximity to tourist attractions!

With over 10 million inhabitants and daunting traffic jams, Lima is a mind-boggling place for the new visitor. Amidst this ugly sprawl, the Posada del Parque, an elegant former private house in a tree-lined cul-de-sac, is an oasis. Like other small hotels where we have stayed in Latin America, it is a veritable museum of folk art. The collection of the owner, Monica Moreno, much of it is from Ayacucho. The service was pleasant and efficient. Our one criticism was breakfast, which lacked fresh fruit juice and proper coffee.

Quiet, eclectic place to stay near tourist sites in Lima

Artistic oasis

Stayed here for a couple of nights.  Don't think I would stay again.  Basically clean but could do with a good deep clean.  Situated in a pretty quiet little street with local shops and restaurants nearby.  Taxis are good value to explore this part of Peru.  Biggest bugbear was that you had to find someone every time you went in or out as the owner insisted the key be handed in and the gate locked at all times.  This is her home so I understand but it is annoying to have to wait each time you want to go out or worse get back in.  No tea/coffee facilities.  Continental breakfast is available if ordered in advance for an extra fee.

Quaint budget hotel

I know this is my first review but that's because I'm usually to lazy... But for this hostel I have to voice my opinion!
First of all the receptionist didn't say hello when we arrived.. Then he forgot to give us the key to our room, the towels and the wifi password... Additionally, we got a room where we couldn't lock the window and it would have been very easy to climb into our room. At least we could change the room! 
The hostel is also not very well organized regarding their bookings. Even though we had the confirmation from booking.com for 3 nights, the hotel was not sure if it's possible to stay for 3 nights when we arrived. The next day she confirmed us the 3 nights stay. 
Unbelivable that such a place is recommended by the lonlyplanet!!!
