Tired, old property. I had a queen room with en-suite. Noisy hallways.

We arrived (2 adults, 4 kids on mum and daughter weekend) to find booking.com had booked us into a room that doesn’t exist( (6 bed with en-suite). Wild zebra were kind to accomodate us across 2 rooms ensuring access to an en-suite in one. 
Whilst central, the building is very run down, bed has a huge dip in it, noisey street with lots of bars, bathroom has not been adequately cleaned (bottle tops and old plasters, layer of dust on floor). Thank goodness it’s only one night!

The team at Wild Zebra Backpackers did not know what Wotif was and where confused by my booking and payment. Other than that, the room I had was clean and it was a great location.

Broken plugs that sparked when using.
Smelly room.
Old heater that did not work.
Curtain not attached to rail.
Window did not open.
Holes in wall in toilet.
Broken tap in bathroom (which oddly enough was in the corridor...)
Lack of cleaning evident in bathrooms and bedrooms.

This place appears to be just a cash cow for greedy owners that do not understand the meaning of regular maintenance and cleaning who take advantage of travellers who they know will never return anyway, one good thing was the location otherwise a  real dump.

Rugby trip

You are treated differently depending on who you are : if you are a group of 5 Chinese people, you get one card for the room each, and a key for the front door, but if you are not, you get only one card for everyone and you have to knock and tell your name to enter.
If your flight to come to Wellington is cancelled and you arrive the next day, you don’t get refund, even if you call, email them, and have an insurance claim.
Staff is not friendly, don’t recommend at all

Worst hostel

Quite expensive for just a backpackers.  Got a private room, but shared showers. Close walking distance to concert venue and situated right in town, so I guess paying for location.

Booked this place 3 months ago... Details were taken Name, CC, email all the usual rubbish.
Turn up late in the evening to find out there was no record of our booking.  More likely sold it for more money due to Rugby game that was on.
USELESS

Could have been a great place to stay???....

This place is falling apart and should be closed. There are numerous holes in the walls (presumably from being punched), things (e.g. doors) are broken, and sinks and toilets out of order. My bed was fine - the linen did appear clean, but there were only three plug outlets in the room. I arrived late at around midnight and there was a person repeatedly playing a song loudly in the hallway outside my room. I asked a staff member who was cleaning the bathroom to ask them to turn it down but the person had turned the volume back up by the time the staff member returned to the bathroom area -  not that they cared. In saying that, the 'bathroom' on the floor I stayed on was one of three sinks in order, showers, and one working toilet in the hallway (i.e. no separation between hallway and bathroom). The staff members did not give me any information about the facilities until I asked, and even this was minimal, as they didn't seem very happy. I would NOT recommend staying here and am relieved I was only here for one night.

Decrepit and Dirty

Gross, noisy. Paper walls, no sleep as all night chat and music, people on phones, what a dump.
