The room was clean, airy and comfortable, and the common room and kitchen were big, clean areas with some outside seating too. Location a few minutes walk from the centre of town along the seafront. Would stay again.

A good stay.

Struggled to find affordable accomodation in Paihia over summer for a family of 4 (teen daughters), so figured we’d give this a go. We were given a quad room with ensuite and it was perfect! Cooking facilities were well stocked and very clean. Room was large enough for us. Bathroom was a little cozy but not really a big issue! No air con in room but there was a pedestal fan. 
Parking was available on the street or across the road and the walk into town was easy. Beach was only 1 min away! 
Fridge and freezers were full but we found room for a bag. No hooks in the room which was the only let down. 

Great location

I had paid for 3 days in advance. I got dates wrong. I requested to come a day earlier and leave a day earlier, but still using my 3 days I paid for. I was declined. So had to go back and book another day which had no price difference and was not booked out? To be able to stay on these dates. I am in emergency situation and didn't find this great service.

We were impressed by how well equipped Peppertree Lodge is, lots of space and equipment in cooking and dining area. Rooms are comfortable, secure. Staff helpful. Well located just 250 metres from the waterfront and about 1km walk t supermarket.

Impressive array of facilities

Good

Peppertree Lodge is a very friendly and well-run backpackers located just a few mins walk from Paihia Beach and the town centre. As a family with two teenage kids we took one of the rooms with a double, bunk beds and an en-suite. It was a small room with a tiny bathroom, but we didn't spend much time there as the communal facilities were really great with plenty of room to sit, eat and relax. The manager, Josh was really friendly and helpful. There were a couple of sit-on kayaks that were available to guests to borrow FOC and we used these to explore the bay. Generally we found the place to be pretty quiet at night, despite being right opposite some of the noisiest bars, but I guess this was because we had a room at the back !

Great spot for budget travellers

Spent the second part of my stay in Paihia here and it was excellent. Front desk guy was very welcoming and friendly and they have a lovely little dog! 
Site is very quiet, neat and tidy and the room design was on point! Apparently it had a fresh makeover!
Made use of the kayaks out in the bay and had some awesome food at the restaurant directly opposite.
Loved my time in Paihia - will be back.

Lovely spot in a lovely town!

Spent a good week here on a trip from Auckland, excellent distance from the beach and the owners dog is just so so cute. Reception were very friendly and helpful and the rooms were immaculate. My new go-to in staying in Paihia! 

Adorable hostel

I had a double private room: nice and good location with a good pricing .
Internet doesn’t always work and it can be a little noisy in the weekend but okay for sleeping .
Showers and toilets are in a public room but very clean .
Shower and toilet in the room are very expensive .
Friendly international staff 

Nice and clean

Affordable, last minute accommodation. Great location across from all the local bars.
