As we were taking our grandson with us for ..for his first trip to Christchurch,Miners Arms..looked to be the perfect spot.wiith such an amazing lot of animals to see ,feed,and touch.was really worth it.  alpacas,chickens,sheep,and two beautiful big dogs.was enough for any person to appreciate. Wee drive out from the airport .Lorna the hostess directions were spot on
.A beautifully clean top story of their home .comfortable and warm beds.and breakfast. Excellent .off road parking..A1'a great place to stay.

Just loved it

Miner's Arms is extremely cozy and Lorna makes awesome breakfast, especially that homemade strawberry jam of hers.

The alpacas are adorable too and you might even be able to touch them as well!

Definitely the best place we stayed in our new zealand trip.

Awesome

We need travel from north until south of new zealand and this by far the best stop after some earthquake hiccup during earlier part of the trip.

Very friendly host, comfy accommodation, away from the hustle and bustle so we really enjoy the stay. My daughter love animals & mrs lorna farmer .. haha 

Breakfast was awesome, large portion and it never get wasted, walk around their farm also enjoyable and children get to play around with dogs, sheeps and alpacas.

Will always remember this place and hopefully one day we will revisit again.

  

Wonderful farmstay & very friendly

We actually stayed in March 2015 but the latest month i could choose on trip advisor  was August. So anyway, we had a good time. Lorna showed us the animals and we fed the sheep, chickens and alpacas. I still remember my 2 year old sitting on the ground, surrounded by sheep he was feeding by hand. They also have 2 huge white dogs that were really friendly and fun to play with. Breakfast was really good. Cooked with the eggs we collected ourselves from the coop.

My overdue review.

Over the last 6 weeks or so we have travelled widely across Australia and New Zealand, staying in all manner of accommodation. This one takes the crown! Fantastic place to stay. We had the whole of the first floor of the property to ourselves with a lovely balcony on which to sit and enjoy the very welcome cup of tea made for us on our arrival. The property sits in 10 acres with a plum orchard, woodland and paddocks with alpacas, sheep and hens and two beautiful sheepdogs.. We were given a guided tour of the grounds and were able to help feed the animals on our way round. Breakfast was splendid with a huge array of homemade jams from which to choose. If you are visiting Christchurch, particularly if you are flying out of the airport, this is most definitely the place to stay.
