After completing an amazing two days’ trip, experiencing the Abel Tasman National Park, we were ready to start our trip to New Zealand’s Western Coast in the Southern Island. 

Our destination was Westport, located on the western coast. A long distance and a challenging drive to be completed in a day.
Luckily, my travel partner, Daniel, is a skilled driver who managed to complete this route in a day, having just a few stops along the way. 

We arrived in Westport in the late afternoon, getting ready to settle for the night, before continuing our trip.
We were excited to find “Sunset Accommodation” to be an ideal location for us.  

Cheryl, the hostess, greeted us, two Senior Travelers, with a big smile, leading us to a two beautiful, well appointed units facing West towards Tasman Sea.
She did her best and went out of her way to make us feel at home. An extra bonus were all the goodies and small gifts she showered us with. 
Both units were spotless, functional and answered all our needs. 

What a splendid way to start our trip along New Zealand’s Western Coast. 

Should your itinerary includes New Zealand Southern Island, do not miss the opportunity to spend the night at “Sunset Accommodation” located nearby Westport.

Sunset Accommodation - Friendly, Functional & Oh, so Sweet

A lovely two-night stopover that could have easily been longer. Gracious hostess, clean unit, only a little traffic noise, close enough to attractions while distant enough to unwind. Lovely complimentary breakfast, renewed daily when towels are refreshed. 
I'll be recommending this one to others!

A quiet place to relax

What’s fantastic person the owner, Cheryl is!! Friendly and helpful!! She’d double booked so she gave us her whole house to use!! The property was very well maintained and even came with a semi tame weka!! (A NZ ground bird) A cereal breakfast, milk, yoghurt and filter coffee we’re left for us!! Even the wifi was strong!!The rooms and bathroom were very comfortable and I would fully recommend this motel. I would love to stay again even though I’d get a much smaller room!!

A fantastic motel to stay at.

We have stayed here twice now and both times have found our cabin spotless and comfortable. It has a country setting and is quiet and peaceful. We booked the accessible cabin and it fully met our mobility needs. A night's  stay includes the makings for a light breakfast. The host is very friendly and helpful. 

Quiet and relaxing

We loved this location, being a perfect spot for us to explore the West Coast. The check in went well and the staff (owner) was very friendly and helpful. Room was nice and cosy. While the shower/bathroom was small it was still enough room for a couple. We would have preferred curtains rather than blinds as once it was daylight outside it was still getting inside the room.

We received a really friendly welcome on arrival.
Our cabin was fantastically spacious and well appointed with fridge, hot plate,  microwave oven, cooking equipment, crockery, cutlery, breakfast items,  hairdryer, Wi-Fi, comfortable sofa, large bed, shower room/toilet, plenty of towels and toiletries, nice seating area outside.  The cabins are thoughtfully spaced for privacy and located away from the road so it was wonderfully quiet.  The cabins are surrounded by pleasantly planted/landscaped garden areas.
A great location for Westport and Foulwind. 
Cheryl and Bill were helpful and friendly and made us feel like valued guests.
I would definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone needing to stay in this area.


Superb stay

So peaceful. Fabulous bed, delightful chalet and a lovely complimentary breakfast.

Beautiful Host ..Cheryl was lovely Cabin was delightful, clean, warm and had everything we needed. The cooking plate was a great surprise, we were able to cook our own dinner, NZ Black Angus steaks. Beautiful

Cheryl tweeked our booking due to an event in Westport we were attending,which included an upgrade,great west coast hospitality!
Cheryl was super nice and friendly and had our cottage well prepared.. super cosy and comfortable,
Nice big bed(good pillows) and a great shower..
Sunny and warm.. although we were worried we a bit to far from Westport for things it was really handy and easy to navigate to.
