Great party last weekend organized by Radah and Maddie, relaxed atmosfere to celebrate and take it easy getting to know the cities of veracruz and boca del rio. You cand find very cheap, traditional kitchens to get a taste of the local food, but you can also find every kind of franchise and quality gourmet restaurants.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at counter culture, great location close to beach, shops and town! 
Had such a great experience, we made cocktails went out to awesome night clubs. Good food near by.. 
Elliot the manager is awesome! Thank you counter culture hostel. Can't wait to come back to veracruz!

I thought the place was really cool. The house is actually really cool with an awesome roof top view of the city. The staff there is nice, and they remembered me after returning for second time after several weeks. There is also a lot of stuff to do within blocks of the hostel. Including the beach, fishing, SCUBA, and sight seeing. I also felt fairly safe and secure at the house. The only thing that  I would recommend is a little more effort in cleaning the overall appearance of such a cool house especially inside.

Big, awesome house with lots of space and spots to chill and hang out. Good kitchen, spacious rooms and cool staff. It was pretty empty when I was there, but still a really good wibe. Radah, the manager is super friendly and tries her best to help everybodys requests at all times!

My friends and I stayed at this hostel during a quiet period, you would think that would make it easier to maintain cleanliness, yet the place was a mess, there was no chairs to sit on and no swimming pool as mentioned. 
I've see the picture of a blow up swimming pool, but seriously, that doesn't count, and wasn't even there anyway.
On top of that the beds were old and uncomfortable, the bathrooms were pretty bad too.
The internet said alcohol was fine to be brought from outside yet there was a sign at the front door saying the opposite, we did bring alcohol in and it seemed fine so maybe they just need to remove the signs. 
I'd check out up the road for cheaper and  better accommodation.
