Christian from the Joy Squad was one of the nicest and energetic employees here at Vidanta. He really made you feel like family. 

Javier, the server, was one of the best! He had such a positive personality and always had a smile on his face.

Diego Canela Lira was fantasic at getting me where  needed to go and was very good with english and I practiced my busted Spanish on him. When I arrived he took my luggage and stored it with a lock. It is safe and se ute while I get to my room. Showed me how to get the luggage to my room. Perfect. Easy check in. He took care of me. 

Marta goes to Mexico!

Vidanta Nuevo was a great vacation spot for our family. We have never experienced a friendlier or better trained staff anywhere. Edgar Canella Lopez was especially helpful with checkout and getting our luggage to the taxi stand. Thank you for an excellent experience. Vidanta is beautiful and we loved everything about our experience here.

Spectacular Nuevo Vallarta vacation.

Diego Canela Lira went out of his way to help my family multiple times. He made us feel comfortable from the very first moment we stepped into Vidanta. He is a fantastic employee.  Overall, a great vacation and great people.

We loved Cristian and Joana on the Joy Squad. Happiness starts there!  We enjoyed playing water volleyball. Weather was 80° and sunny every one of our 28 days. We enjoyed meals at Salum, Tramonto, Taco Break, and Sweet Paris. Isabel, the towel lady, is always a sweetheart. I would recommend whale watching. Always love walking the paths. Not many shuttles.

Paradise

This review is not comprehensive but rather about what needs to change. It is clear that money is mostly going into their new projects on the property. However, the lack of upkeep and poor repair workmanship should make the resort heads embarrassed.  Rooms need to refreshed/overhauled far more often- 3-5 years not 10+ years. The kitchen is not well supplied for people who desire to cook in room-cooking utensils, pots/pans are few.  Dishes are so high up that an average height woman will struggle to reach most anything in the cabinet. The shelves can be lowered..geez.  

When someone replaces a damaged floor tile, the replacement should be so well done, that it is not noticeable. The common areas in and around the hotel are so poorly repaired that it cheapens the look of what could be an impressive resort- that is what they are selling anyway. 
Now to the pools. Why Vidanta insists to use 1x1 tiles that look so horrible when they are replaced, is beyond me. The Grand Mayan pools was in such disrepair everywhere you would look. Large cracks missing tiles everywhere. and this is the kicker... black algae was everywhere. This is why you have a smooth surface pool and not use tiles for all of that difficult surface area to keep clean. The pool is not cleaned/scrubbed and no one clearly treats for the algae. It is difficult to treat and remove. It takes chemicals to kill it and scrubbing. The pool needs to be CLOSED, completely overhauled with smooth surfaces and monitored for unclean/chemical balanced water. To pretend this pool is fine for a "luxury resort" is the appalling. I saw the other pools are designed in the same fashion but I did not study the lack of repair beyond seeing the tile replacements. With all of the money going into these resorts,  it is mind blowing how huge areas are just neglected completely. 

Last piece, the Grand Mayan shuttle stop. I have no idea what is going on with this as everyone I spoke to had a different excuse. I am on the FB forums and apparently the shuttle issue to the Grand Mayan is many years ongoing. We got a shuttle when we arrived that dropped us off at the far end of the hotel complex, but after that, there was no more shuttles to the Grand Mayan for the whole week. I am guessing it was a favor for new arrivals only but they acted like it was a new reason of the road being resurfaced, then we heard it was because of lobby construction and the excuses continued on until I rolled my eyes. The first few days, it was in the ok category to have to walk 30 min to catch a shuttle, but then it quickly got old and annoying especially if you had items to carry. I decided right then that I would not come back if there were no shuttles. I was told the manger of the Grand Mayan is the one who controls the shuttles. Well management must not give a damn about the large number of people who need to get over to and near the Grand Mayan. 

I would be embarrassed to recommend this resort to people I know because of the poor upkeep and lack of transportation internally. How ever will they manage when people coming from new hotels built near the highway on this resort complex want to get over to the beach etc? We own in the Jungle Aqua which has not been built. Will I have to take 10 different shuttles and still walk another 30 minutes to get to the beach? 

Those staying at the Grand Mayan building closest to the beach, they are converting the upper floors to Grand Deluxxe rooms and the construction noise is LOUD during the day if you are going to use your room.

Wish it was better

We had overall a really great time at the resort. The activities especially were very fun, and a big reason for that was Odette. She was such an awesome joy squad worker and was always making everyone laugh and smile. Especially when she ran the ping pong tournaments it made it extra fun. Big thanks to her for making my experience so much better :)

Second time booking in Vallarta, overall beautiful stay. Staff was really nice as always especially Diego Gradilla, he was always very attentive during my stay and super nice! The only thing I would say that was under whelming was when we went to "breakfast" to review our member contract. Adam Phippen was helpful at first when  we decided to proceed with our new contract. We were told something different that did not benefit us when it was time to finalize the upgrade. And when we did not decide to proceed, he caught an attitude and left the room mad. He did not return my deposit as he promised and I had to walk all over the place jus to find my deposit for "breakfast". Very unprofessional when he was the one the provided us with the wrong information. Overall I do recommend Vidanta as it is beautiful.

Nuevo Vallarta @ Vidanta

Our family of four returned to Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta for some December sunshine. The weather was great all week with highs in low 80s and lows at night around 70.

We stayed in the Grand Mayan and had convenient access to the Grand Mayan pool and to the gym. Trying to keep the holiday weight down a bit, my daughter and I hit the gym several times. The gym has a ton of equipment from free weights to many cardio options. The weightlifting area can get busy at times, but nothing we had a problem managing. The staff were friendly and kept the facilities spotless.

Even though we were closer to the Grand Mayan pool, we found ourselves making the Beachland main pool our daily destination of choice. This was due to the proximity of the pool to the beach and its amazing views, great food and drink, and superb service. With respect to service, I’d like to specifically highlight Humberto and all he did to make sure our family had an excellent experience. He greeted us daily, helped make sure we had all we needed, and was there to give us helpful tips for the resort and Nuevo Vallarta and surrounding areas. Given this was a quick trip, he even helped us start planning for next time already. I can’t say enough about his hospitality, and the hospitality of the whole staff at Beachland.

Our family can’t wait to go back again soon!

Another great trip!

The best thing about our stay was David Jairo from the Joy squad, our group of 8 had a blast playing blackjack on a floating table in the pool…so fun! He made sure everyone was having a great time and even sought us out the next day to play some other games!
In my opinion, the resort has grown so much that it isn’t quite as relaxing as it used to be. The wait time for everything is way too long. Check in took hours starting in the “convention center” and then being transferred to the resort for the final check in. Being pressured the minute you step off the shuttle is not how I would choose to start my vacation. Having to take shuttles and then transfer to other shuttles to get to the taxi stand is also annoying. 
The food and drinks have gone way up in price. We found the taco truck about 4 days into our week, the tacos were awesome and actually decently priced. Pizza on our last day was also inexpensive and better than I thought it would be.
Overall Jairo David from the joy squad is rated 5 stars.
The resort as a whole at best is 3 stars.
We were there as guests of friends that own a time share. We had thought we might purchase as well, but the experience overall was pretty meh.
