Calido Hogar

Calido Hogar is ideal as a base for walkers (I was able to walk the entire Gozo coast over 4 days from this base), scuba divers and independent travellers, many from outside Europe on world trips.  I have some minor grumbles about kitchen equipment but ok for serving breakfast, drinks and cooking basic meals. Dorm bedroom was spacious, plenty of common space and the bathroom better than many hotels let alone hostels. It was also a bonus being allowed to use the pool out of season and after dark. The host Luciana is just right for this type of place and is a traveller but makes sure ordinary holidaymakers are welcome. 



I was immediately struck by the cleanliness of the place. The house is amazing and we loved staying in it. Will definitely be returning. It took us some time to find it because the name on the door does not correspond to the name on the website however we were glad we did. 

I was a bit worried due to the fact that the room could not be locked from outside and therefore we made sure not to leave any valuables in the room since we shared the house with complete strangers.

Full of Character and Clean

The house is nice with lots of character. Unfortunately I didn’t see or hear anything from the owners while I was there, so no actual hosting at all. Shame that the pool wasn’t very clean. The room I had was very noisy as right onto the road, which was surprisingly very busy. There were notices around about a breakfast option for €10, but it wasn’t available. No information given about the surrounding area/good places to eat/what there is to do in the area. Very difficult to find as the name “Calido Hagar” isn’t actually on the building. Had booked and paid for 4 nights, but ended up only staying for 1 day and 1 night and then decided to book in elsewhere ☹️ Disappointing

Filthy place with the room full of glass marks that were easy to remove by proper cleaning, the toilet posterior area was so dirty that I used a tissue to clean it and it turned black... our room noisy and one cannot Lock it if one decides to go out it can only be locked from inside.... WiFi does not work from the designated room .... we are currently happy in another place instead since we had to leave after about 5 hours due to the dirt and ambience.... apart from the fact it is not called anymore Calido Hogar and we ended up having big difficulties finding the please .....
