This is a clean but basic hotel complex. They offer just what you need at a really good price. If you like your luxuries then look at the Radisson at golden sands, it'll cost you a fortune. Clover club complex is located in the middle of Bugeba and Qawra, and offers an ideal location to see the island

Basic, but really good

The reviews that have been written about the hotel being tired and needing updating is correct however it was a good base to see the Qwara side of Malta. 
We stayed HB and when looking at the menu realised that it wasn't a Vegetarian friendly menu HOWEVER- the restaurant staff went above and beyond to give us an evening meal to suit both our children's needs and ours. We were potentially lucky as the hotel wasn't full and they had more time but we were fed very well. The staff were friendly and if you take the time to chat to the reception staff they are knowledgeable and professional. The outside swimming pool was a great hit with the children and the staff welcomed the children. 
The restaurant on a few days we were there was run by one man, cook, cleaner, waiter and shopper of the vegetarian food we requested! He did a fantastic job. 

Family holiday HB

Very poor sc room in a very tired complex. Bedding was stained bath was filthy cooking facilities dirty , seats torn & ripped this is not 3 *  staff were helpfull so 1* complex is worn out how this is rated at 3* god knows . Surrounding area looked like a rubbish trip.

Bad experience

On arrival to Clover Holiday Complex I was quick to notice the "no smoking" signs around the walls, yet the distinct smell of cigarette smoke and fumes came from reception. We were greeted by 2 very friendly staff members who checked us in and welcomed us. We took the small lift to our 2nd floor superior room where I was pleasantly surprised. I had read a number of reviews prior to going and was more then apprehensive about what awaited us. A spacious apartment style room which had a double bed, a large open plan kitchen/living space, a clean bathroom and extra room with 2 single beds in. The room, like the rest of the hotel could do with bringing up to date but was clean and suited us just for the 4 nights we were staying. We had working air conditioning and a double balcony that overlooked the pool and sun deck area. The beds were firm, which personally I prefer, but lumpy pillows and creaky frames did make it difficult not to have an undisturbed nights sleep. The shower was attached to the bath taps but had warm water and was powerful enough. The pool was absolutely freezing but the area around it was kept clean. The indoor pool area however looked and felt like it had been abandoned for some time. We paid for half board but would not recommend staying at the hotel, especially if you enjoy sampling local cuisine. The menu consists of burger, fish and chips, chicken and salad etc. and one choice of drink (excluding beer) for your evening meal and cereal/croissant, full English, omelette etc. and one drink for breakfast. We ate the first night of our holiday and made the choice to avoid having an evening meal again. The 'restaurant' staff were extremely friendly and greeted us each morning. From speaking to other holiday goers there at the same time it seemed that booking the half board option 'upgraded' us to the superior room - the standard room seemed to be a far worse option of accommodation yet didn't tie you into the food at the hotel. We also tried to book an evening excursion via our hotel yet the staff seemed to have little knowledge of it despite having leaflets in the reception area. We were disappointed when on our last night we waited for collection to find we had been told the wrong information and booked in the wrong night. Although we received our deposit back, it was made awkward to do so. 
Fine hotel for a short break but for any longer, only if you want to eat English on a half board basis. Good location, only 5 minutes one way into the town and Buggibba bus station and 5 minutes the other way to The National Aquarium.
