Portside Lodge is ideally placed in Marsaskala. It’s near lots of restaurants and bars. You can have a lovely coastal walk to St Thomas Bay too. The local buses are cheap and the bus terminal is only a few minutes walk away.
The staff here are lovely. Very helpful. We recommend apartment 402. We had another apartment but found it to be very noisy. This was not Portside Lodge’s fault. The noise in the night seemed to be coming from air conditioning units in a neighbouring building. However the lovely owner came to chat with us and we moved apartments. 
The whole building is so tidy and squeaky clean. There is a small pool and roof terrace for sunny warm days which is a bonus.
We booked with Booking.com but suggest booking straight with Portside Lodge. We would definitely recommend these apartments.

Lovely apartments

Lovely apartment hotel in the heart of Marsaskala. Very clean and spacious, with all amenities included. Short walk away from the local restaurants. 
The pool on the top floor offered a nice escape from the heat. Towels provided by reception. 
The staff were all so very helpful and supportive when our flight got delayed and delayed and we ended up arriving at the Lodge around 5am. They even made videos on how we could access our room and where to find our keys.

Comfortable and clean apartment hotel in the heart of Marsaskala

Great location with a nice view and entrance, very close to shops, recreation areas and all other services. Fully equipped apartments and facilities with the highest level of cleanliness and comfort. Very helpful smiley staff and management. 

I highly recommended it

Our first visit since the renovations and the work and detail that has gone into it does not give you the routine chain hotel vibe.Excellent location which is very convenient to all shops, restaurants and places to eat and on the main bus route, front desk staff Dorothy and Maria were extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful, making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay every time we came down.Accommodation is clean, inviting and very modern , we were made to feel very welcome from the time we arrived.Fantastic pool and roof terrace  and it also includes a gym on the lower level.
They even arranged our airport transfer at a very reasonable price.
Overall it was just amazing and we will not stay anywhere else, thank you Aislynn, Dorothy and Maria

Best accommodation in Marsaskala

This was one of the rare occasions for us when we stayed in a vacation apartment instead of a hotel. What made the difference were all the additional services that the Portside Lodge offered. With Claire's help we got the pick-up from the airport organized, the rental car booked and in the end we had transportation back to the airport. We got the rental car delivered to the Portside Lodge and we returned it there. On top of that we had free underground parking. In one word: Just too good to pass up on!
The Portside Lodge is an excellent choice for people exploring the island. Valetta is about 45 min by bus and all the other sites, including Gozo, are easy day trips by car.
The stay in the lodge is very comfortable. The rooms are modern, clean, and also very quiet at night.

Home base to explore Malta

Well we arrived here this Thursday and we could not be happier !! Great place to stay. Stuff are fantastic, very friendly, helpful and trustworthy. Both me and wife are very grateful for their hospitality. The place is spotless, all over ,in the room, reception , and corridors. The system they use is brilliant, you have your own gadget to open the  outside door if you go out in the evening.   and a key to your bedroom. They even gave us 2 keys, as my wife is not to good at the moment so if I need to go out on my own until she gets better not a problem.. The system they use is brilliant, a lot of things have gone into this place to be so good. All you need, is there, the free wi-fi is brilliant, very good signal, and the air condition works great, Certainly very economical. If you come to Marsascala  this is the place to be. Also Marsascala is a great place to be. Loads of british, great restaurants and bars.
Also not too noisy or crowded and people are very friendly. Recommend fully. It is a no smoking hotel but I have  a balcony and I can smoke there.

THE BEST

Lovely and clean and very modern.  We've stayed in lots of places over the last 10 years as regular visitors to Malta and these apartments are great - in fact, we are booked to stay again.   Great location with lots of eateries, bars, supermarkets nearby and a 30 second walk to the seafront/harbour.   The bonus is the underground parking which is a rare find in Malta!    Love the reception and key entry - you feel like you are in a hotel.  Very helpful staff and good sized self-catering accommodation.

Lovely self contained apartments with a reception and underground parking.

Very well located right next to the harbour and close to restaurants, convenience store, bus stops and short walks to lots of different places to swim (rocks or sand).  Clean, plenty of linen and towels, well equipped kitchen, there was nothing really that they had not thought of. Would definitely stay here again.

Great place to stay

We were there together for 5 nights. Upon arrival reception was closed, however clear instruction about getting to our apartament was provided in advance. Staff at reception desk was super friendly and arranged great activities for us (boat trip around Malta and diving). In your apartament you can find a lot of brochures with activity proposals (bus/boat trips, diving, kayaking) supported by different maps.
Apartament #209 was clean, spacious and equipped with all necessary items like: washing machine, iron, microwave, oven, fully equipped kitchen and TV. Air conditioning is there however you need to pay additional 1 EUR per day (more or less depending on ac usage). Balcony view was terrible with smells coming out of restaurant exhaust, however nothing was promissed in this particular apartament.
Private garage is available for all guests, therefore you do not fight for space on the street.
Location is close to really nice bay (2 minutes walking distance) and area is quiet despite many bars and restaurants over the corner, unless there is a party in the bay which seems to happen like once per month. 

Friendly, clean and comfortable

Apartment was spacious, kitchen well equipped. Staff was friendly and helpful, they had even delivered milk, bread, coffee etc to our apt on the day of arrival. We did not like the apartment though as it felt cold and damp despite we had the heating on when staying in. Maybe it would have been better if the windows or balcony were facing south. In summertime probably no problem. Well located near the bus stop, also many restaurants nearby. Quiet area.
