Now called Moodhu Inn. Our stay was made more enjoyable by Ahmed the hotel manager. He’s always helping us in everything that we need even when we don’t ask. He goes beyond his job. Thanks Ahmed! You’re super duper. The hotel itself is good enough for those looking to budget. Good shower and big comfy beds. Breakfast is good consisting of American, Continental and Maldivian, but it can be a bit monotonous after a few days. We tried out different restaurants in the area. Sea la Vie is next to the hotel. There are others further down the road like Black y Garden, Central and Retro Garden. You might want to try them all and make up your mind. Note though It can take from 30-45 mins to get your food from any of these restaurants so allow plenty of time. The highlight of our trip is going night fishing with the local fishermen. Paid $100 to go for 6-hour line fishing with Maashaa (boat name). The elderly fishermen are joy to fish with although they can’t speak very good English. We went fishing twice with them as we enjoyed the first experience. They’ll always bring along someone with them who can communicate in English and translate for them. We cooked our catch with the help of Ahmed. Such a great experience! Visited Rasdhoo island for $10 each return ticket on speedboat. Bought our lovely souvenirs from the shops there. Went to Coffee Ole’ which stands by it’s no. 1 rating in Trip Advisor. Make sure to bring lots of mosquito repellent if coming in Nov. There’s plenty of them around! Love the fruit bats, singing birds, great beach, sting rays at the harbour and sea life in general. Great and unique experience especially being our first time in the Maldives!
