We understand this place isn't everyone's cup of tea but for the price and facilities it was reasonable.

This was one of the two accommodation options on the small island of Fulidhoo we found that supplies a communal washing machine to guests at no extra charge, which was extremely convenient for us. The family who run it were helpful in offering to carry our luggage and found an extra sheet for us when we asked.

The room is very basic but the air con worked well. The bathroom is a bit odd, but most Maldivian bathrooms are. They were flexible about having an early breakfast for us in line with our scuba diving schedule and the Chinese family who run this are spear fishers and for a price can prepare an amazing Chinese fish feast which even my husband who normally dislikes seafood enjoyed.

This place works for seasoned travellers who are just looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep at night and do their laundry and plan to fill up their days scuba diving or boating. It is not a good option for people wanting a luxury style escape. There are several other options on the island if you want premium luxury. The price of this place reflects that.



All our needs met while we spent our days scuba diving

The major problem with this place is the lack of communication. The receptionist was unaware of my arrival even though I called and messaged him several times prior to checking in. When asked his reply was 'I don't know your number', imagine that! The breakfast is mediocre, the room I was given was really small. To sum up, stay elsewhere! 

Stay away! 

We stayed at Alkina Lodge for 12 nights, where we had a great time right away! Musa and his family are very hospitable and available to satisfy our every request! The room was more beautiful than in the photos, basic but spacious with a large bathroom! Delicious and varied food. Musa also helped us organize the excursions which were really amazing and cheap! Thanks Alkina Lodge for everything, every time we think about this wonderful holiday we will think of you too, we hope to see you again soon!

Unforgettable vacation

Not recommended  at all....The guesthouse is in really  bad condition...the bathroom was so stinks..u have a window  in the room..but its to the front to the other room....the breakfast  wss so cold....

Not recommended at all...not good value for money

We stay at alkina for 6 nights. It is a very kind family, they organised the speedboat to fulidhoo (40usd) for us very good. Even get an airport pick up. Great WhatsApp service. 

The place is 1min walk to the pier and the dive center. There Restaurants close by, but can have good pricy food at alkina lodge too.

The rooms have a good size, are very clean, got ac and fan. Not noisy, good sleep. 

 Breakfast is included, you can choice between western or maledivian. It gets a bit boring everyday toast, wiener,fried eggs, jam (fruits had been different).

When we return, we choose alkina again. Thank you
