We stayed in the wonderful front balcony room for a week. Comfortable and clean, we loved sitting on the balcony and hearing the gentle life of locals. Close to the junction of the Meekong and Nam Khan it is also a stones throw to many of Luang Prabangs incredible Wats. An easy walk or tuk tuk ride to everything on the peninsula. I was sad to leave.

Great part of town.

The guys at reception are very helpful and do their best to answer any question or solve any problem.  The rooms are beautiful with polished floors.  But it's the beds - the cleanest, crispest, softest beds!  Like sleeping in a cloud!

Heavenly beds

I am a Travel Agent from CA, USA. My mom told me about Somvang and I wasn't sure of it at first, I have travel all over the world so my expectation is quite high. Somvang is above and beyond my expectation, GREAT value and excellent location, great service!!! beautiful and very clean guest house. I highly recommend this property.

Excellent Property

Right at the top of end of town - a quieter location but walking distance from the main drag. 

I had (I think) the best room - huge, clean, smart,lovely wood floors, clean crisp bed linen, lovely terrace/ balcony. Cheaper than lesser places nearby.. Bargain.

Fantastic value

We actually booked another hotel, but we were sent here because that one was full and the owner is the brother of the owner of Somvang khily.
I don't know how the other hotel is, but this one is very good, it looks new, was very clean and has AC.
Staff was always ready to help and they offer tea or coffee for free (apart from drinking water in the room).
The only problem was that the bathroom was stinking like sewer, which was a bit annoying, but it was very clean and it had even bath courtain.
The bed is comfortable and the room is big.
