老旅館，有一個夜班男光頭人員很兇，服務態度很差，日本之恥。被子很爛，薄薄的老式毛毯，蓋起來很不舒服，是昭和時代的樣式。
古いホテルには、夜勤の禿げた男性がいて、とても獰猛でした、日本の恥。掛け布団は腐っていて、薄手の古風な毛布で、覆うのが不快で、昭和のスタイルです。
This is an ancient hotel, never try to lodge in. A bald man at the front desk is rude and impolite. Shame on him and Japan. Quilt is old and smelly.

Bad Hotel

Hotel was exactly what was needed. We were only staying one night but could have stayed longer .Close  to Kelsei Line and Ueno park. Lots of cheap restaurants close bye. The hotel is old and small but suits our needs. The staff were very helpful.

Great location

I will not come back here again. The staff refuse to change room when the aircondition is not working. Having said that, the location is good cos its right in front of Keiseiueno station. ..............

Poor

This hotel makes no pretence about being anything other than what it is... An old school hotel. It's location is perfect for anyone who has just arrived from Narita on the Keisei liner or who wishes to use it for one night prior to heading back to Narita. 

The rooms and facilities are very basic. The hotel has not been updated in 30 plus years. The blankets and fittings are old. However the sheets, toilets, towels etc are spotless, and the room is remarkably quiet. Given that it did not pump heating into the room unwanted, I also had the best sleep of any of the hotels I stayed in during a 10 day visit to Japan. ( more by good timing of the visit - November , than by design)

It is convenient to Ueno park, Ueno zoo, and to Ameyoko-cho. However it's close proximity to the lake would make it a tricky location for those who suffer from mosquito bites. 

As long as one knows that this is no frills accommodation in a hard to beat location, it's worth considering for a one night stay.

Excellent location. Basic facilities

Pros
- Very convenient location right across from one of the Keisei Ueno train exits 
- Clean
- Will hold your luggage for you after you check out if you need to kill some time before you catch your train. 
- Wifi did work well in my room and was not slow. (However, there is a warning that the wifi is slow.)
- Water cooler in the lobby along with a vending machine.
- There are no, non-smoking rooms but they leave a bottle of Febreeze. Truthfully, I didn't smell any cigarette smoke.
- No electric kettle, just a hot plate and a metal cup to heat the water in.
- Complimentary tea.

Cons
- Must pay every day. So if you booked for two nights or more, they will not take a one-time payment for all the nights. You have to go EVERY DAY to the front desk and pay for the night. Every day was someone different and sometimes you have to 'remind' the person that you booked for multiple nights. 
-Tiny bar of soap. No shampoo or bodywash. Just a small packet of shampoo and rinse that was one use only. I brought my own, maybe that's why they never replaced the shampoo and rinse.
- Tiny, cramped bathroom. 
- Room is a bit dilapidated. The color of the chipped walls and wallpaper gave the room a cheap, seedy, motel room look. Much like what you'd see in an old noir film. 
- Mislabeled air conditioner was actually a heater.
- No hair dryer. If you need one, you need to borrow from the front desk.
