This place was cozy and the chairlift was nearby- literally walking distance. Special shout-out to Jason who is friendly and helpful host. Will definetly recomend and will stay in this accomodation if I ever do come back to Nozawa. Two thumbs up!!!

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. There was an onsen in our room but the public onsen of the hotel was even better. The hotel served Japanese breakfast and dinner. The hotel was very close to the ski resort. The staff were polite and helpful.

Cozy hotel in Nazawa

Booked this hotel for two reasons. Had an outside Onsen and close to Yu Road ( travelator ) to ski slopes. Good Choice! Breakfast was the traditonal Japanese breakfast. All prepared when you arrive for breakfast. Multiple bowls of this and that, plenty to eat. Room very modern with a very new bathroom, actually with a shower and not a bath. Onsens ( 2 ) switch between male and female at 6pm. One is a smaller wooden type , whilst the other is more like a rock pool area and a bit more walking to get too. Also two different indoor Onsens as well. Yes I would stay there again.

LOVELY HOTEL IN THE RIGHT LOCATION

We can’t recommend Elizabeth Onsen Hotel enough. They met all of our needs with a smile. The family room was comfortable and generous in size. We appreciated the onsen downstairs which meant we didn’t need to go back out in the cold and our daughter could use it too as it wasn’t as hot as the public onsen baths. The staff were exceptional, happily booking excellent meals in local restaurants. They seem to have thought of everything- umbrellas, maps,  bottomless tea and coffee and a warm fire in the common area and a yummy breakfast each morning. Lastly, the place was spotless and extremely handy to the lifts and rental shops and Main Street. Thank you for your hospitality. 

Family holiday 

We were in a western style room, very nice and comfortable. Short walk to travelator and not that far to the Nagasaki Station though uphill. Hotel has its own onsen which is great if you want to have a soak by yourself. Japanese and Western breakfast are both very good. Short walk to the village centre, post office for more cash and great restaurants. Definitely would stay there again.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff

Fantastic location - the hotel is located in the upper village and is a short, easy 5 minute walk up to the moving walkway to the ski fields. It's a 3 min downhill walk to the main street.

The external of the hotel is a bit dated and the inside slightly rough but the renovated rooms on the 3rd floor are good. The onsite onsen is nice and convenient and saves having to battle for space in one of the public onsens.

The Japanese breakfast is great - 7-10 courses and very filling. There is a standard Western option as well.

A ski locker and coin operated washer add to the convenience. An outside foot bath avoids the smelly feet in room scenario !

Overall, highly recommended.

Great location, ignore the exterior

If you’re worried about the wallpaper.....go somewhere else. This hotel is charming. Japanese breakfast is fabulous. Staff are friendly and helpful. Has a washing machine that you can use without charge. Midway between the Yu Road and Nagasaka gondola (we used Nagasaka) and just a 2 min walk to Main Street for restaurants and bars. Best place for dinner is across the road in Sakai and if all goes badly wrong..... medical centre next door is excellent and handy. Would stay here again. 

Clean, well located, friendly and has a fabbo Onsen in house. 

Don't let the rough exterior scare you away. The hotel has an up-to-date interior with comfortable rooms. The bath is a true onsen with natural hot spring water. It includes an outside bath to relax in. 

Pleasantly surprised

This is our 7th time in Nozawa but first time at this hotel.  This hotel would have been very nice when newly built, but is sadly showing her age.  Looking a bit ragged around the edges and a little dowdy, but nothing that decent coat of paint and new floor coverings could not fix!
Best internet we have ever had in Nozawa, Fantastic indoor/outdoor onsen, good Western bed and crisp linen. Yukata and amentities fresh daily. Free washing machine.  Breakfast was surprisingly good compared to other Western Breakfasts here in town.  Preprepared and cold, items heated in your own toaster oven on the table.  Cereal, eggs, fruit and toast, pretty good for this town.  Preferred the toaster oven on table as no waiting for queues for toaster like at our last Ryokan! Free coffee in reception ( take in to breakfast ) until 10am is nice touch. Very close to Yu Road!  Would stay here again.  Very good value and no ski boguns.  Would be fabulous ( but probably more expensive ) if they found the $$ to start renovating and sprucing up the place.. very worn and ragged carpet, peeling paint and wallpaper looking very dull.
 I also liked that although they had some English, they were happy to speak to me in Japanese and allow me to practice my Japanese skills!
