Hotel Fujisan is a hostel in Fujikawaguchiko. They will pick you up at the train station by bus (included in the price of your stay). It is very well located: 15 minutes walk to the town center. Within 3 minutes walk you have an area where there are a couple of good restaurants. In the opposite direction, at 3min, there is a lake and a park. The green bus line passes just in front of you and lets you know the area of the lakes. It has common and clean bathrooms, as well as a washer and dryer. The staff is friendly.
The comfort of the bed can improve, it's quite hard.

Good hostel

The location was incredible, my japanese style room was wonderful with a super Mt.Fuji view! Wake up in the morning with this view was like a dream. Breakfast was ok, perfect the free shuttle for the station and the sightseeng green bus stop just in front of the hostel. Not so far from some restaurants and bike rent shop.

Hostel like a ryokan 

i went there on January 2018. this is a good place to stay. there is a bus stop just in front of this hostel. we need to share the bathroom and toilet. unfortunately, there is no hot water in the toilet. they also provide breakfast for us. a simple breakfast but it's good.

It's a cheap little place that actually gives you a small free breakfast which is nice, there are 3 rooms that have views of Fuji and I believe a small sink in the room.
Walking distance from the town or they have a free shuttle bus if you speak to the tourist info at the station or get on the red or green bus and it will cost you ¥150 to bus stop number 5 which is outside the door.

Cheap.

Traditional style rooms were very clean.  The staffs were very friendly and were always ready to help us. The shower room was shared, but often empty. Mount Fuji is seen from the hostel, if the weather is nice.  The lake area and the restaurants are located within a walking distance. The train station is 2 km away. Hostel with traditional rooms

This is a simple but cute hostel about a five minute shuttle or bus ride from the Kawaguchiko Station. It’s about a 15-20 minutes brisk walk. 

We were lucky to get a room with a view over Mt. Fuji. It was completely visible early in the morning. By eight o’clock was always partly covered in clouds. Our room was right next to the front desk and we thought we were going to be disturbed. But it seemed to be the best room. People on the second floor were disturbed by other chatty travelers. The walls are quite thin. 

The rooms have pretty much nothing but a low table, a couple of Japanese leg less chairs and futon mattresses to roll out on the floor. Showers and bathrooms are shared. They held a good standard. 

The included breakfast is a bit of a joke, two Belgian mini waffles and a small pancake in a plastic box. That’s it. There’s a couple of vending machines in the lobby that holds soft drinks and hot/cold coffee. There’s also a microwave and a small sandwich oven that only comes out for breakfast. 

There are shops a 10 minute walk away from the hostel. A Lawson, a Family Mart and a larger supermarket. 

There’s a couple of restaurants a two minute walk away. We had three dinners at the Elvis themed Dino’s Dinner. We were very happy with that place. 

The hostel staff is cute and helpful even if they don’t understand a whole lot of English, they use a translation apps to communicate. 

There’s a free shuttle to/from the Kawaguchiko Station. It was unclear to us whether you need to book it in advance. When we first got to the station the shuttle did not show up as expected and we had to take a taxi that coated 1000 yen. 

The day we climbed Mt. Fuji we got up early and walked in to Kawaguchiko Station to catch the first morning bus.
