Tenuta Santicuti

A perfect base for visiting southern Puglia, good pool, friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, and the room was clean and sheets and towels changed regularly. You need to eat out for lunch and dinner (although there's a small fridge for keeping supplies in) but there are good cafes, restaurants and a range of dining within 3-4 km - at Acaia, St Foca and San Cataldo. Local beach is good and about 3km by car. Bari is about 2 hours, Otranto about an hour. Finding the hotel is easy (but only once you know how! - on the San Cataldo road by the coast, pass the Acaia turn on the right and the road to the hotel is 100 yds further on, on the left, by the Brown sign for the hotel. Or, if coming via Lecce, take the turn off at junction 8B and then turn right at the T junction - and then as from St Cataldo). We were the only non-Italians during our 10 day stay, but you can get by with a smattering and one of the partners speaks better English than we spoke Italian!
