Hotel Delfino

I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Delfino. It's our second visit to Venice and this time we brought our 19 year old and 11 year old.son and daughter After reading some of the reviews I was pleasantly surprised. Staff on arrival were both helpful and friendly. It was too early for check in so left out luggage in a room in the lobby. We then took a walk to to centre of Mestre which has a lovely square and some nice cafes and restaurants. Proceeded to check in at 3pm and were more than happy with our room. A little hallway when you walk in and a bedroom to the right and one to the left. There was a TV and fridge in both rooms. All very clean and comfortable huge beds. Lots of space for the four of us. Hairdryer in bathroom. The room was cleaned daily and fresh towels were left. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food. Plenty of shops around to pick up snacks. One being below the hotel. We bought 4 day passes at the tobacco shop across the street which we could use for buses and water taxis, very easy. The 4L bus stop is opposite the hotel and takes you in to Venice in no time. You can use the passes to hop around the other islands too. Burano is a must, beautiful. All in all a great stay, we had stayed in the hotel next door on our last visit 8 years ago but the Delfino is just as nice for a decent price. For us the hotel is just somewhere to stay, this is Venice there was far too much we wanted to see and do to actually spend that much time in our hotel room but I would recommend here.
