Hotel Stella Maris

I had a fantastic week in this very buzzy resort, and a very attractive town with a backdrop of mountains. My daughter and I stayed at this centrally located hotel in the old town,This place really came alive at night so not for anyone who wants a quiet life ( I dont ) My daughter lives in Naples so this helped but the Hotel staff speak English, so not a problem if you dont have any Italian. The rooms are great,modern and clean with Wi Fi and air con. They can be noisy at night but to be expected in a central location.
Loved every minute and would definitely stay again!

This hotel is in the center of Diamante, right on the water. My room was beautiful, comfortable and affordable. A family operates the hotel and you can, if you want, get to know them. They are lovely people, They operate a restaurant and pizzeria nearby. Many restaurants were closed in Diamante when I was there in November, but I had wonderful food at the family-owned restaurant. I loved staying there, and I will return.

Fantastic location. High quality room. Breakfast in the restaurant next door.

An Italian experience

I've stayed in Diamante before, and now I know to stay at Stella Maris.

A diamond in Diamante!

The first impressions of the hotel are not good. The entrance is down a side street; a 4 storey building with the hotel only on the first floor over and ice cream shop run by the hotel owner - breakfast is taken here! The common entrance hall to the upper floors has the faint smell of Italian drains.  Stone steps lead to the reception which is in a narrow corridor.  The receptionists are very helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean and adequate. Remember this is a 3* hotel.
The town of Diamante needs a cleans a clean up. The municipal charge a daily holiday tax but what they do with the money is anyones guess; graffiti, dogs and chewing gum all over what could be a nice sea front. The beach is a disappointment with grey gritty sand changing to stone as you near the waters edge: beach shoes a must.
