No complaints about the beach itself, but the igloo type cabins are (1) pricy, (2) filthy, (3) poorly-maintained and (4) about as small as the name implies.

Over two nights, I ran into as many cockroaches in a bathroom barely big enough to fit a shower. Even the lock to the igloo barely worked, at one point I actually broke the keychain pulling the key out of the lock (you have to put your back into it).

I really don't mind slumming it, but for these prices, and with no extras at all (not even cutlery), I was expecting better.

Great beach, awful accommodations

We try to come for a couple-few days every year after the summer crowds and before autumn makes the beach and sea less inviting. Although the prices are a bit high for what you get (a cement igloo painted white or a cramped two storey cottage) in comparison to rooms in the holiday village down the way on the neighboring kibbutz, you cannot beat the immediate access to the shore right on the other side of the fence from the lawns surounding all of the accommodations  -- whereas the kibbutz holiday village is quite a walk from the beach and their hotel on the beach is very pricey indeed. 
Bottom line: we keep coming back here as do some of the other guests whom we have gotten to know over the past few years  since we choose the same time period to come. Vacation friendships. The grand children all find playmates.

Great place to bid summer farewell

For the past few years my family and I have been spending the Yom Kippur holyday on the beach in white cement igloos at this holiday village. Everyone else who goes there at that time is looking for the same ambience. So, there is a casual but respectfully quiet atmosphere with families full of children of all ages enjoying one of the last good beach days of the season.
All the igloos are the same size. There are 2 types of igloo interiors, one for couples and another for families with 2-3 small children.

Imbibing the silence over Yom Kippur

I enjoyed my visit to Dor in Northern Israel. I stayed in the Holiday Village in novel igloo-like cabins. The park is literally a few metres from the beach, so it's a lovely spot for relaxing. The holiday park grounds are clean and the gardens are beautiful. The accommodation is very basic (hence the 3 stars) but the bed was comfortable. The cabin I stayed in had a small kitchenette (with microwave and fridge), a sofa, double bed, bathroom/toilet and a small table. Outside there are BBQ facilities. It would be a nice spot for families to come in the holidays. Kids would enjoy the experience of staying in the dome cabins and as it is located right on the beach, there is plenty of fun things to enjoy.

Basic But Novel Accommodation. Stunning Beach Spot.

the village, located less than 50 meters from the sea is located in one of the most beautiful shores Israel has to offer.
The area is lovely and filled with trees that give you shade in the hot summer of the middle east. plenty of green grass covers the ground and gives it a unique look.
However the house we got was an average place to be in. the kitchenette was lousy and the microwave was not working. No dishes or silverware and no pots and even no soap to wash the dishes we had to bring if we wanted to use the kitchen.
the bed was comfy and cable TV was decent. there was no breakfast and we had to travel 5 km. to Zichron, the nearest town.
3 and a half stars and only because of the location.

An open DOR to the sea

Not far from Village Dor you can find one of the most beautiful beach around North of Israel. It's a nature reserve, free entry by foot and some NIS with a car
it's have camping place so you can stay for some nights. Toilet and sweet waters are near by.

Dor Habonim nature reserve

Located right on the beach which is quiet and beautiful. We stayed in the beach cabin.  The accommodation was small and very basic. Sleeping 4 in one small space with a very small cooking area. Far too expensive for what it is.
