Cosy guesthouse accom, as central as central can be! Reasonable price and a lovely welcome from staff when we arrived. 
Cafe below does a decent all day breakfast too.

Women on check in more than happy to handle any questions too!

Exactly as it should be!

This is a lovely little guest house right in the centre of Kinsale! The rooms are small but perfectly clean! The staff are really helpful telling you different activities to do in rain or shine! The restaurant below if a great place for breakfast or lunch and I’d book to avoid disappointment!

Centre of everything

Absolutely dreadful accommodation..
Tiny rooms and bathroom dirty, hairs in shower and on bedding, toilet seat cracked. Tap in sink leaking..Sockets on wall loose.. only plus was it was central and cheap.
Wont be back and wouldn't recommend.

Dreadful

We stayed here five years ago and back then it was ok. Returning we expected a similarly functional overnight stay. I don’t recall the place being as shabby or noisy as it was this stay. A bed that had seen better days years ago, paper thin walls and floors coupled with noisy neighbours and the constant serenade of extract fans being turned on and off made for a less than restful nights sleep. Unlikely we’ll be back again.....

Fraying badly at the edges....

We recently stayed during our road trip in Ireland. Coming from Canada we didn't have access to our phones. After getting checked into the hotel and going for food at a pub, we finally signed into WiFi. I realized I had emails and voicemails from the hotel asking what time we were arriving and the tone was very rude and full of annoyance. The hotel did not consider that guests travelling from different continents may not have phones so getting check in times the day of would be impossible. Check in was ok however, the staff didn't give us the wifi password which we didn't realize until after our dinner which was very late. We went down to ask at the desk and no one was there. There was a number on the door to call for assistance, but yet again we ran into the issue of having no phone to call with. We opened the reception door to see if a wifi password was written down somewhere in the office and the door was not locked. We say check in documents on the desk wide open with people's information (phone numbers, full names, countries of residence etc - we didn't read them) We felt it was a huge risk to have people's information open and accessible with no staff in sight..  We took a photo of the phone number and went to a pub to make the phone call. The staff member initially said we should have been given the wifi password (which we weren't). We asked if he knew it, which he didn't. Then he said "why don't you check other rooms- it should be on walls inside other rooms" which we reminded him that we don't have key access to other rooms to check for something like that (what an absurd suggestion). He finally said they come and meet us at the Inn to assist us. We went back to the Inn and after 25 minutes a staff member finally showed up in pyjamas. He again said we should have been given it and he continued to check our room for the piece of paper that held the wifi password- he didn't find it. He couldn't find it in his office and then finally went into another guest's room to find it for us. What a joke!! 
I mentioned to him that the office being insecure with files on the desk with guest information was dangerous for the guests and his response was "door is closed". I asked him if he could lock it which he said he would. We checked later and it was never locked. 
Upon check out there were still no staff there to assist us so we just left the key on the desk (of the unlocked door) and left. 
Our room was ok- sooooo small but updated. I would compare it to a hostel room. 
Would not recommend and would never stay there again.

Mediocre Inn with terrible customer service

We stayed one night in a twin room. The room was very clean and had everything that we needed but was a little small. The staff were great, very friendly, helpful and amusing. Tierney's is in an ideal location for getting everywhere in Kinsale and I would be happy to stay there again.

Charming guest house in fantastic location

This guesthouse was in a great location.  You can walk all over this delightful little town.  The staff gave us great recommendations for where to eat.  Parking is a bit of an issue...street parking only and the streets are narrow.  This guesthouse is a bit noisy at night, there are several pubs nearby.

Great place to stay in Kinsale!

Stayed here for two nights with a group of old school friends. The staff very friendly and helpful, the rooms clean, and food great in the attached cafe. Highly recommended in a lovely town with some great restaurants and bars nearby

Great weekend at Tierneys

I had booked the full guesthouse for wedding guests in July and the booking was cancelled. It was a bit of bad luck as my credit card had changed and when the guesthouse tried to call me I was already in Ireland using a different mobile number.
 
I’m writing because while this could have been a huge issue for me and all the guests staying at the guesthouse, Tierney’s Guesthouse went out of their way to sort the situation out and find rooms elsewhere in Kinsale for every one of the guests - in peak tourism season! By the time I turned up at the guesthouse expecting to spend the day trying to find accommodation, it was already sorted.
 
I can’t thank Lisa (I believe this is her name) enough for the care she showed and going out of her way to sort out the problem. It really could have ruined our holiday and instead everyone was left impressed at how much people cared, both Lisa and the owners of the other properties who were able to accommodate everyone. I know you had the baby cot transported for one of the guests also who had to relocate.
 
It's easy to give praise when everything is working well, but when things go wrong that’s when you really see whether people can act professionally and their character. I am so grateful for everything you did that morning and couldn’t recommend enough that people stay with you whenever they are in Kinsale. Two guests did stay there and found it very comfortable. 

Exceptional Service

Situated in the heart of town, soeasy to get around.  The ladies in reception were cheerfulan and helpful.  The room was small and the bathroom very dark, but adequete enough for one night.  Car parking is dreadful in Kinsale, so once you find a parking spot leave the car there until it's time to leave.
