Absolutely the worst place to stay in the 1st world (it would give the worst place anywhere a run for this money). Checked in and was told that there is no breakfast (what part of their name 'Bed and Breakfast' do they not understand ?) and we had to pay in advance - do not do this. We were stuck for 2 nights in this hell-hole.
   Had a 'garden unit downstairs at the rear - the place was tiny, the bathroom en suite was a converted cupboard about 600mm wide, hardly enough room to stand in the shower, let alone use the toilet.
  Crappy bed, small CRT television that did not work, no room for luggage - where do I stop detailing the the problems here ?.
   We tried to contact the staff to get our money back but this was impossible and we spent 2 miserable nights here - woken up bu vigorous sex from the room next door and from argumentative neighbors.
  The place needs tearing down - do not stay here

This place continues to call itself a B and B even though breakfast isn’t on offer. Part of a growing trend in greedy Galway where people are being hoodwinked and ripped off wholesale. Most B and Bs have now been contracted out to Eastern European workers who are always delightful and courteous but there is no presence after dark . The room we stayed in was tiny .. the shower was a wardrobe. You could sit on the loo and have a shower... novel. A word of advice... you’d be better off in a hostel or look for a deal in a hotel like Flannery’s... a little bit out of town but you won’t leave enraged in the morning.

Without doubt the worst B&B iv ever stayed in.

I left it late and just booked without researching,BIG mistake.

Firstly - as pointed out repeatedly in the reviews ,It’s really just a “B” as no breakfast is served.This despite a great big sign outside proclaiming they do.This of course only came to light after I’d paid in full at check in.

That said,if the overall quality of the accommodation is any indication it’s probably best and safer that they do stay away from food entirely.

I specifically booked a double so as to have a decent sized bed- ended up with 3 munchkin sized beds instead.Id say combined they would add up to the size of a decent foot stool .

One might consider applying shower gel before entering the shower so as not to get stuck on the way in. 
In a space this limited you can imagine how poor the water pressure must be when you have to wet different parts of your body in rotation,and it took far too long to wash away the supplied hair/body wash for my liking-not least as it smelled like someone had poured dettol on a dead Labrador .

It was even harder to sleep in the munchkin bed as in the attic room the amount of noise from the water pipes in the roof was awful and non-stop.
In the morning the room was absolutely freezing.
Oddly when I popped back at lunchtime it was toasty.

Hard to make a warming cuppa also.
Tiny kettle was faulty ,had to hold down the switch while it boiled.As small as the kettle was it wouldn’t fit under tap in an even smaller sink,had to fill cup by cup. Also only peppermint tea in the room,had to go looking for regular.

Ultimately Ud be at least as well served on a park bench in Eyre square.

It’s only saving grace is it’s location,but as you walk into city centre u realise just how many B&Bs there are in the area,and the smell of bacon wafting from the majority just added insult to injury.

Take away message? 

Do ur research
Pick another B&B 
ANY other B&B.

Just Plain Awful

Where to start? From what I can gather the young lady running the place and her boyfriend rent out rooms in the amber lodge building to their friends staying long-term and send everyone else into the old copper beech b&b. I mean I had booked a room in Amber Lodge and was looking forward to making use of the back smoking area also but was told I couldn't use the smoking area that was at the back as it was only for people in the amber lodge part. Upon arriving as well I was greeted by a nice gentleman who was living in the b&b who was very helpful trying to find the lady in charge but why wasn't she there in the first place, 10 minutes spent awkwardly waiting in the kitchen. The room had a nice multi-purpose toilet/shower. Its basically a shower with a sink and toilet in the middle of it. Not worth 70 quid a night. Which of course I was told I had to pay before I could be shown the room. Absolute scam. Oh, and was told to just leave my keys on the table in the lobby when checking out (ie, "we don't want any more communication with you, the guest, after taking your money and showing you where the room is")

Absolute scam.

No parking no breakfast as advertised room was tiny and poky headbord on bed was broken no t.v. in room no plug to kettle shower in dirty and needs to be 're grouthed wouldn't stay again only thing said was no smoking in room or 250 charge pity they wouldn't have clean rooms and decent beds for the price
