COMO Uma Canggu

I stayed here for ten days on a solo retreat holiday looking to improve my overall health. I chose the hotel due to its beach front location, excellent gym facilities (best hotel gym in Canggu) , ability to hire yoga and Pilates teachers and the fact they have a healthy cafe called Glow. What were the best things about the hotel. The staff were great. In particular there was one staff member on the front desk. I think her name was Ashri (hope I got that right) and she was just great. She just had a beautiful way with people and excellent conversational English. And I loved that every time I left the hotel someone opened the door and also when I arrived in a car. It is the little things that you notice that make you feel important. The spa is also excellent and I had some beautiful massages by a woman called Widia. I felt a real sense of deep relaxation and I don’t think I realised how stressed I was until after the massages put me into a better place. The front desk staff at the spa were also lovely and very professional. They keep in touch via WhatsApp with your appointment schedule and reminders. Thanks to the spa manager for recommending the massages that I got and checking I was happy. The gym is open 24 hours I think. Nicely air conditioned with every kind of equipment you could need. I had about three yoga classes and three Pilates sessions which were all one on one. A woman called Lauren who is Australian did most of them. She was very knowledgeable. I ate at Glow cafe most days. They have healthy salads, smoothy bowls, fresh sandwiches and bagels with no mayonnaise which made it easy to control my diet. Also a few healthy juice and kombucha options. Breakfast was good looking out at the surfers and it is a mixture of ala carte and buffet. My room was very comfortable. I appreciated the turn down service each night with water top ups. I have been back a few times to Como and I hope to visit again.
