I stayed in Varkala Beach resort with my friend for four days in February. Firstly, we were thinking to stay only for two days, but 
Varkala’s charm got us two and we extended our stay. We couldn’t do better. The resort is just few minutes walk away from the cliff, rooms are spacious and clean and management and staff of the place will do everything to make you feel @home. I recommend this place to everyone!! 

Amazing place to stay!

I stayed 5 days at the rwsort and I was feeling like at home. Great and clean room, hot shower, comfortable bed and the best is the staff! Nice, friendly, helpful.
The position is super central, in a quite corner of the cliff.


The best place in Varkala

Absolutely amazing stay in Resort. Felt like I was a guest of a family but in the hotel standard :)
Very nice and light big room, modern shower area, interesting modern design of the public space near the rooms. ECOfriendly resort with solar energy for the hot water.
Very nice and friendly management open to offer any help and advice you need. Nassфr, Waseem and all from the team are really good in managing of this resort. 
I was happy with the pack room+Ayurveda (I skipped just yoga classes – it was good but too early for me). Ayurveda center is right at the corner.
Good position of the resort – everything is closed (the main touristic area just like at the corner), but the area of the resort is quite and calm. Some birds make the awakening in the morning quite exotic:)
The very specific moment for the whole area of the Varcala cliff is that there is no hotels situated right on the beach – it is cliff, so everything situated on the top, and to get to the sea you need to go down by stairs. So generally say this resort situated as near as possible to the stairs to the beach :)

We booked at Varkala for 2+2 and were offered an alternate venue @ LilyPad across the street.

Spacious room, with AC and hot water
Lily Pad has a nice pool (all rooms face the pool)
5 min from beach and other hot spots

Keep these in mind as well:
None of rooms have TV
Dont expect resort-style room amenities
No room service (but there are eating joints near by)
Breakfast is very austere (bread, egg, juice)
Service staff may have English language limitations
Price can be steep during peak season, for the amenities offered.

Overall, we had a great time at Varkala and kids loved the beach and pool.

Just a 30 feet from room side to beach view. Wow  wonderful sight seeing.

Bamboo house

We stayed here a few months ago and thought it was just OK.  Price was in our budget but breakfast was just OK. Wifi was not so great unless you were in the lobby which was really unfortunate for us as we were planning our trip on the fly.  If you are looking to have local treatments and just relax on the beach and read a book, then it's probably fine.  The hotel's team was very nice though.
