We stayed for 1 N in Crown of India as my Houseboat was fully Booked as we arrived a day earlier in Srinagar from Gulmarg.
Crown of India Houseboat is Excellent. As soon you enter the Housboat there is a huge Waiting Room with intriquist Wooden carved walls. Then there is a Dining Room which was also nicely decorated.
The Rooms were spotlessly clean with neat & c;ean bathroom & Linen.
Food was just like home made food & service was impeachable.
The owner Nasirbhai is a very down to earth & very humble person who takes care of his Guests very nicely.
If in Srinagar you want to stay in a Houseboat then Crown of India is the Place.

Excellent Houseboat

I loved Crown of India, the hospitality of people is worldclass. in 2021 I have been to Kashmir twice . Once in June for celebrating my first anniversary and then in Dec'2021.  we stayed 3 nights and 4 days in Houseboat only. the experience is just wow.

Best Houseboat experience

We stayed for a day at the houseboat during our 10 day motorcycle expedition of Ladakh.

Mushtaqbhai, the owner of the houseboat and his team are very good at taking care of guests. The team is very helpful, and welcoming.  

The rooms were spacious, clean and well ventilated. The interior of houseboat is very well done.

The breakfast and dinner served were good. Kashmir tea "Kahwa" was superb.

A great experience of staying in a houseboat, on the Dal Lake, which is a way of life in Srinagar. 

Overall an excellent, great hospitality and highly recommended to all tourists domestic and international.

home away from home

We have been staying at Shabhnam and Crown of India since 2011, at least twice a year. The houseboats are superb. Carvings are ornate, rooms are clean, beds are extremely comfortable and the toilets and bathrooms are spotless. Their food and their kahwa are absolutely divine.

The porch on each houseboat and the common area in between are a glorious place to spend dusk and dawn at, with the mountains as a backdrop and birds frequently swooping into the lake.

As ever, Nisar bhaai and his team's hospitality floor each person from every single group every time. They never fail to amaze with their generosity and willingness to help.

Thank you. We will, surely, return again.

Clean, comfortable, opulent, helpful

There are more than house boats on Dal Lake. As I know that the biggest one seems to me 4 rooms in each of them. If you are traveling with your male friends, make sure that you get extra bed there as all beds are double. Electronic blankets seem okay but no electricity, you can not use it at all. The best room to get it with fire place which will keep you warm enough for the whole night. The staffs are so friendly there and the food taste wonderful. Hot water the next morning was great.

It is in front side and average houseboat. it is not as per our expectation. we stay for day. food is also average and you not have any choice. Same thing in breakfast. only advantages is that it is in front of road so easy to travel.

Attendent mehraj may be paid less thats why curd finishes in between breakfast.
Chapatti half baked in dinner.

When i didnt offered their expected teip as my stay was terrible...... they didnt tuched even hands to my baggage, my self and my wife putted baggage into boat.....

They dont know even "H" of the hospitality...

These kind of boats are useless even in free...
