Sonder

Was greeted promptly, given a friendly welcome and a tour around the place. The beds are comfortable and clean, laundry service's was efficient. The staff was super helpful- suggesting places to go and advising about the area. 
We had a tour in the morning (Tapan was so friendly!) around the garden and joined the breakfast cooking class where we helped cook breakfast. 
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!  

If I go back to India at some time, I will definitely prefer that beautiful place again!!!
Clean, amazing breakfast from local women, very gentle stuff and owners too!
The location is great, because it is quite and very close to many places!
Price is veryyyyy good and the hospitality is amazing!!!
It has a beautiful garden at the back and a beautiful terrace at the top where anyone can go and do yoga, or just chill and see the sunset!
It has also a bio garden!
I totally recommend it and I really think of that place and all the beautiful people that I met there!

Most hostels are amidst busy localities, but 'Sonder' has a different feel. It has a permaculture garden in the backyard.. Which gives a unique experience with a hostel like no other. And it has a vintage housing structure which adds on to the beauty...

I loved the hosts Dikshi , humble and very helpful. Though it's not a big property, it serves the backpacker , lovely backyard and great dosas 👌

Excellent customer service

If you search on a PC, Tablet or Mac, all the Sonder pricing is significantly higher in real time; vs. when you search the exact same criteria on a smart phone (Android or iPhone) where the pricing is significantly less. They use “geo targeting” to adjust pricing based on your device type and other criteria, so be sure to check if you have multiple devices - all the pricing is bound to be different across them all and you can save well over 10%/night just because of their own revenue management/marketing approach (I thought we stopped doing this in the earlier 2000’s when people caught on?).

I stayed at Sonder for two nights and generally had good experiences there. The guy at the reception is super funny, friendly and helpful, they have a great rooftop terrace and the place itself is also close to the more touristy-yoga-district (15min walk, 5min tuktuk). What I did not enjoy is that the bathroom did not have any windows and was therefore moldy and had a few cockroaches. Was not too bad, for the price it is ok. Generally a standard decent hostel, where you could stay one to two nights.

I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER HAD A WORSE EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH A HOTEL.  I ASKED IF I COULD REGISTER AN HOUR OR TWO BEFORE THEIR 4 PM CHECK IN.  THE RESPONSE IS THERE WOULD BE A $25 FEE FOR CHANGING MY RESERVATION AND CHECK IN TIME.   I SAID NO.  NOW I GET EMAILS AND TEXT MESSAGES ALL DAY LONG TO CONFIRM AND APPROVE OF THE $25.  I CALLED THEM; EMAILED THEM; SENT THEM TEXTS TELLING THEM THAT I WOULD NOT PAY THE $25 TO CANCEL THE REQUEST FOR EARLY CHECK IN.  AND YET I KEEP GETTING EMAILS AND TEXTS WITH TO CONFIRM THE $25 PAYMENT.     I WILLNEVER EVER STAY IN ANOTHER SONDER HOTEL


TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE

I booked through VRBO and had to cancel my reservation. Sonder provided a refund right away but couldn't cancel my VRBO reservation so I could not get the VRBO service fees refunded (over $780). Hours on the phone, emails, chats and alot of conflicting information and no one could provide a refund. They all agreed I should get the service fee refund but days went by and no refund. Sonder didn't know how to do this and wouldn't try. VRBO would not process the service fee refund without a cancellation from host Sonder. I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charges and will never use either platforms due to the lack of a cohesive service experience. They are both "teflon" so I am sending a warning to all so you don't have the aggravation. If you book Sonder go direct! Beware of Sonder on VRBO - don't do it or if there are any problems they will just point at each other without any traveler support.

BEWARE USING SONDER THRU VRBO!

DONT STAY WITH THIS COMPANY THEY ARE CROOKS. THey Told me to go have a hundred dollar dinner on them and that they’d reiemburse me. It has been over 2 weeks since my awful stay with them and no reimbursement yet!!! I have called them countless times and still no resolution. During my stay I sent numerous text and received none of the items requested. They didn’t even have face towels. Beware. Don’t stay with them they are CROOKS!!
