excellent place to stay with family   or friends..  I went with my family on 13th of march 2019 and was totally satisfied with the hospitality of the cook as well as their staffs..we had taken a corner room and the view was awesome!!!  Over all 👍🏻👍🏻

Vajra residency

A beautiful place to stay in Gangtok. The owners are very kind and helpful. They tried their level best to make our stay a comfortable one. They helped us with a great deal of information and sight seeing points. They also helped us with doctors when needed. A thumbs up to the hospitality of Vajra Residency. The owner and manager, Mr. Kush were very kind and humble human beings. Thanks for making our trip a memorable one.

A well maintained hotel with good food

Customer friendly. From check-in to check-out every thing was smooth. Rates are most reasonable and service is very nice. They provide every thing possible to us and Rajesh is very smily and active. Rooms were decent at this price and spacious. View is been blocked by trees in front of road, but is very owsome. Climate was very foggy and cold.

It is very much suitable for family and friends. 

Nice friendly Hotel

Rooms are well furnished and spacious. Awesome view from room. Food quality is good and sufficient. Staffs are very cordial and friendly. Toilets are clean and geyser available all time. Overall it is an excellent budget hotel.

Comfortable and budget friendly.

I stayed there from 7th to 8th April 2018.
Cons: The bedsheets provided need to clean and new enough.
Pros: Food is awesome.
         Staffs are very responsive and co operative
         View from the hotel is good
         Location of the hotel is very good (near to big bazar and pantaloons)
         You can get a taxi easily from this place.
Final Touch: I can recommend every person to try this hotel. Although its n ot 5 star like hotel, but for a basic stay and roam near Gangtok, Vjra Residency is awesome.

Hello friends,
Just reached Mumbai, from an exciting trip to Sikkim with my family. No doubt it was hectic, but we enjoyed each and every part of it. We stayed 2 nights at Gangtok(Hotel Vajra), 1 night at Lachung(Hotel Fortuna) ,1 night at Lachen(Hotel Fortuna), 1 night at Pelling(Hotel Holiday Inn), 1 night at NJB(Orchid Palace-West Bengal).

Hotel Location:
This hotel is located in the heart of Gangtok. We landed at Bagdogra airport at 1pm which is part of West Bengal. From there it is a good 5-6 hours journey to enter Sikkim and finally Gangtok. While there, we heard the Gangtok airport was getting built, probably operational at the end of 2017. The hotel is located on MG road, right opposite Big bazaar. Its not a grand hotel, but a nice cozy one. Mr Sinha the owner was very hospitable and co-operative.

Not much parking space if you are planning on getting your personal vehicle

Night temperatures vary between 16-17 degrees.

Rooms: Rooms were nice and clean,each room with its own charm. Some rooms have great views of the mountains. Staff are very courteous. The fact of the matter is and many tourists might agree, we plan the Sikkim trip so hectic, that it is difficult to enjoy any 1 place fully to our hearts content. So we landed at 7pm , retired to our rooms , ordered some Indian food(Fish is good too) and dozed for the night , to start a morning trip to Lachen.

Like I said previously, we ordered some Indian food and it was pretty decent. One piece of advise, do explore the eateries on MG road. It would be worth your money.
We tried Triptis for snacks and Hotlix restaurant for some great Indo-western food, was really good. There are many others too Chopsticks, Uncle Khans etc but dint get much time to explore.

A very nice start to our Sikkim trip

Rooms are spacious. Overall cleanliness is of high order. Free wi fi is available in hotel reception area and restaurant only. It is good hotel near the market place. Staff is friendly. Overall experience is good.

Nice to stay

I had a chance to visit Gangtok and stay in this hotel during the Holi festival. The rooms are clean. The staff including the manager are very friendly and helpful, esp. Rajesh. He was always there to provide us with whatever we could have asked for. As I stayed for three nights, it was ok that way. The restaurant is on the first floor, and the food is good and the price is not expensive. Another advantage is the hotel is located bang opposite to the Big Bazaar and very near to the taxi stand and M.G. Marg, the heart of Gangtok.
But there are few glaring omissions which the hotel needs to look into. Firstly, there is no wi fi in the rooms on the top floors. My room was on the fourth floor and the signal never reached there. Secondly, the space for parking is almost non existent, as only a couple of cars can be parked at the hotel at a time. So it is better to have a taxi. Thirdly, the menu for the free breakfast is fixed. You can either have poori-sabji or bread and butter along with tea/coffee. This is delivered to your room in the morning. A buffet breakfast could have been better.
Fourthly, there is no power back up in the hotel, absolutely NOTHING!!! We were unlucky to face a long power cut of close to fifteen hours in his hotel due to snowfall. They did not have any generators and the inverters were not working. So our only hope was a single candle in the room, whereas the hotels nearby had their generators working. I still shudder thinking of that night. Luckily, the water supply was ok. And finally, soap and shampoo sachets should be provided everyday during the room cleaning. If these things can be rectified, the hotel can become a top notch property.
These are the reasons i deducted two stars from my rating. As always, my ratings are always comprehensive which gives a correct picture to the future travellers.
