We met our host very briefly, he was on his way out when we arrived and we had a quick friendly chat. The host is very responsive, we booked last minute and got a confirmation almost right away.
The room was nice, clean and comfy. However, one of the windows didn't close tight and we had to shove a towel against it to prevent a drought on the head while sleeping.
Now here's how to ruin a good impression : the bathroom we used needed some improvement there was fungus allover the bathtub and the cabinet, the bath mat was in a very poor state, the shower door hadn't been cleaned in ages and the hanger was totally rusted. 
Also, we were not allowed to use the kitchen in the evening and we had to sit on the bed to eat our soup and sandwiches. The microwave in the kitchen was also very dirty so as the cranes.
Eventually expensive for what it is (we paid $99 for 1 night for 2) especially if you have to go out for dinner.

Very responsive host - clean room - ok for 1 night

This was a very convenient stop for the 6 of us on our first night in Iceland. It’s a guesthouse with no food provided but you can try and use the small kitchen to prepare food.
Selfoss had plenty of shops, restaurants and we found the best place to buy camping gas, red fuel was the hardware store.
There are no locks on bedroom doors & the kitchen, eating area was very small for the number of potential guests.

Convenient, Clean and Comfy

Our stay was fine. The room was comfortable but the bathroom needed some up grading.

We had a great stay. The host was very welcoming and willing to help with all of our needs. He even helped with luggage and electricity converters. The shared bathroom was an adjustment for us but it all worked out well. The kitchen space was small but well stocked with everything you need for a short visit. Ample parking. Make sure you have access to a map because this place isn’t easy to find and locals don’t know it from the address. We went to the public baththouse and they pulled up a map for us to see - thank goodness!All in all a very good stay. Thanks to the Analynn hosts for everything!

We were stuck in selfoss due to a storm so we needed a place to stay nearby. This place is easy, clean and the owners are friendly. bathrooms are to share but thats fine. The running water is a bit sulfur smelly but I guess thats due to the area. It was very quiet during the night. Recommendable place!

A friend and I booked Annalyn Guesthouse for a one night stop. Rooms are upstairs and are big enough and clean enough. The bathroom is shared and maybe not so great for tall people with the shower under a sloped wall. I enjoyed our stay here and the host was very friendly and accommodating. Towel also provided and use of the kitchen is limited to morning hours only. 

One night stay

We stayed for one night here on our way back from Vik and heading to Keflavik. As is the custom in some guesthouses, we took our shoes off in the entryway. On-street parking was sufficient and it is located in a quiet neighborhood.  The room was clean, relatively spacious when compared to other stays we had on our road trip throughout Iceland. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom is shared but likewise spacious and well-appointed.  While no breakfast is served, guests can use the kitchen for their morning meal, an opportunity we and other guests too took advantage of to prepare toasted breads, to enjoy coffee, tea, yogurt, juice, muffins and so on we purchased from the local Bonus grocery store. A hot water pot is available in the hallway 24X7 for making hot teas.  While as Americans we were kind of put off briefly by no locks on any of the guesthouse rooms, our Norwegian host (or was he Russian…I’m still not sure) — who during our check-in and breakfast regaled us with tales both tall and maybe even true — put our mind to ease and, upon departure, my wife even snapped a photo of me standing beside him.  When we were planning our one night stay in Selfoss, we found it difficult and frustrating to reserve a ‘triple’ room in a guesthouse/b&b – even 4 months ahead - and we were very happy to have found Annalyn Guesthouse to meet our needs and provide great comfort, excellent hospitality and economical value.
