The Guesthouse Summer Day was clean, modern and had the facilities needed for a cheap trip to Iceland. 
I stayed in a single room, it was small but clean and a heater was provided which was great. 
All rooms upstairs faced onto the lounge/shared area which was fine but could be noisy if there was a group staying. 
The shared bathrooms were clean and modern (one upstairs, one downstairs). 
Downstairs was the large kitchen with 3 ovens and stove tops. If you’re looking for a cheap trip to Iceland then perfect for cooking your food each night. 
A 24 hour supermarket and some fast food places were about a 5-10 minute walk. A bus to town was 15 minutes with bus stops a few minutes walk away. 
I would definitely stay here again. 

Clean, modern, cheap stay in Iceland

There are better places to stay but this was one of the most budget-friendly options when we were searching. The walls are thin and the steps are squeaky so you'll hear noises. It's an odd layout with only one bathroom upstairs and the others downstairs near the kitchen, but it works for those looking for a cheaper place to stay in Reykjavik.

PROS: 
The place is big and clean. There are several rooms, a very big common area with table, TV, bathroom (shared) and a really big kitchen in a separated floor (so no noises near the rooms!). The bed was comfortable the location convenient. 
They offer free parking at the location and there is a supermarket very close. The city centre is ~5min driving from there. 

CONS: 
The wifi didn't work in our room but was good in the common area.
The check-in could improve. They leave a note at the door asking you to call them when you arrive. However, when you are travelling abroad, most of us don't have our phones working there - unless we have access to wifi. They could leave an open wifi there so guests could connect and call them or think of another way to meet the guests. Apparently, the guy who had the keys worked just downstairs. The note could tell us to go and meet him there or something.

We enjoyed our stay for 4 nights at this Guesthouse.
Very conveniently located in Reykjavik. It's just about 8-10 mins. walk to the a major grocery store
The owners and staff are very pleasant and helpful
This is a plus, when one is visiting a country for the first time and need directions, etc.
The room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable.  The sink in the room was a bonus
The kitchen has a variety of  utensils and every room was assigned one shelf in the refrigerator. 
The bus stops just in front of the building  and downtown is about 10mins by bus. 
The price is within reason and I will surely recommend it.

Enjoyable Stay

Stayed for 3 nights. At first when I reached there I was not sure how to get in as the entrance is at the back and it was nearly 2am. There was a sign to call. Once you are in there it's a very nice house with good size communal areas with sofas and tables. Also a good flat screen telly too. Bathroom upstairs is very nice and clean. Didn't use the ones downstairs. Kitchen is good with all equipment and the fridge has separate shelves for each room. 
Room I stayed was good. Single bed. They changed towels daily and there was a was basin in the room which was useful. Only issue is that the pillow was wholly inadequate and small. Other than that no complaints.
