My trip was planned in june but unfortunately, icelandair canceled the trip.

So i decided to refund the places i rented for sleeping.  I had 3 airbnb and 1 booking.com wich was svitan guesthouse.

I tried 2 times with them and booking customer service ( lol) to refund and get the money i paid for my rent.

They all told me that this is not refundable, even if i m not able to go there because there is no flight from montreal that go there.

There are mean, cheap and crooks.

My daughter chose this as an overnight stay for our flight to the northern part of Iceland. Little did we know that we have a whole apartment floor to ourselves with a private bath, the accommodations come with free breakfast that is already placed inside the fridge and we just have to prepare it ourselves. Check out will be a breeze as we only have to lock up ourselves and not bother anyone especially as we’re leaving early for our flight. It’s close to the ocean so we can take a walk but it’s windy and freezing at the moment.

Iceland trip

We stayed in the apartment.
Really spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast was excellent.
Really convenient for blue lagoon age airport.
Excellent.

The well stocked kitchen was awesome.
Highly recommended.

Overnight stay

To me this was the cosiest guesthouse we’ve stayed at in Iceland. It was warm, clean, cosy and it had a nice continental breakfast. The place has all the amenities inc hairdryer and a nice living room. The place is a short walking distance to the main road which has a mini supermarket and a few places to eat.

Even our flight was delayed, Dagmar warmly welcomed us. We got nice apartment, fully equipped, full fridge was great. Rooms were clean, bathroom huge. I would just add curtains to shower. Easy parking just in front of our aparment was a bonus

Comfy stay

We booked this hotel as it was close to the airport and was the cheapest in the area. The stay was OK we were only there for a few hours. We booked the larger room with private bathroom which was a good size and very warm. We didnt have breakfast which was provided for the guests to make themselves which was a nice touch. For some reason at 11pm there was a car revving its engine which was annoying and disturbed my sleep. However for a cheap hotel next to the airport the hotel was good value with parking.

OK stay!!!

We arrived at the hotel quite late after we spent a few hours at the Blue Lagoon. The guesthouse is only a few minutes drive to the airport but it is pretty quiet. The guesthouse lady waited for us without complaint. It's got a twin-bed room, a sofa bed, a big bathroom and a living room. I would say it is a very good deal as she has prepared a lot of food for us. It is a great pity that we stayed there for a sleep only as we had to catch a morning flight. This guesthouse is perfect if you want to be near to the airport and spend some time in Grindavik area!

Perfect hotel if you want to stay near the airport

It was our first accommodation in Iceland. 
We got a large room with a bathroom inside. 
The refrigerator was quite full since the system is you make yourself the breakfast and indeed you can use the ingredients anytime. You should only check that they don’t belong to another guest. 
In the coming days we ordered a room also for the last night and became surprised to get a small room without a bathroom, meaning you have to use outside bathroom. 
Since I’m not so young and I’m going to the toilets also at night, it was very inconvenient. 
In addition the ingredients were not sufficient this time. 
Yes, the cost of the room was less, but I didn’t ask for a cheaper room and the owner didn’t tell me that the room will be without a bathroom.

Once were very good, once not.

I initially booked a night in Reykjavik prior to my departure but I’m glad I changed it to Svitan guesthouse in Keflavík. It took the pressure off of rushing to catch my flight. This place is very close to the airport (~5 min cab ride).  You can also take the bus though they don’t run early. The bus stop is a short walk to the guesthouse.  We enjoyed our stay. The room we booked was clean and had a private bathroom and was quite spacious especially compared to most rooms in Iceland. There was actually room for your luggage and they actually had toiletries including shampoo for colored hair.  You also had access to the kitchen, living and dining room.  Breakfast is self service but the kitchen is well equipped and even has coffee pods. You can also cook your meals. The hostess communicated very well and can arrange your cab for you if you need.  Cab ride is $20 (a bit steep for a short ride).  Great play to stay in a Keflavík with everything you need including grocery store, a couple of eateries within walking distance and a gas station nearby.

Super clean and good sized room. Great value for money. 10min to airport. The open kitchen is a great idea. Great for ppl who wants to be near the airport for their early departure. Ample parking. Will recommend to all
