Clean, nice guesthouse in a quiet area close to Egilsstadir and Hengifoss. 

Had a well equipped shared kitchen, good showers and decent sized rooms.

Very convenient for a day trip to Seydisfjordur.

Plenty of on-site parking.

Would stay again

The location of the aparment is just off route 1 and has excellent views of mountains and lake. we were received with warm smile and were provided with the biggest apartment. It had a big bedroom with 2 single beds attached together and a separate single bed for kid. a very modern kitchen with all cooking essentials. The room, bathroom and everything was clean. It even had a washing machine if you required to wash your clothes. Excellent place to stay and visit places around but since we had a fixed plan we stayed only for a night

I did not stay here so cannot comment on the stay but I had to cancel my trip last minute and would lose my booking costs. I requested this to be waived and the host accepted the cancellation for free straight away. Very friendly, helpful and communicative. We will try and book this place for a future trip.

The flat was beautiful and the location is great as it is a short distance from several interesting and beautiful sites.  It is only 2 minutes from the center of Egilsstaðir.    The view from the deck and the living and bedroom windows is a beautiful tree grown hillside.  And all you golfers it is next to a golf course.  The interior of the flat is modern, and all the furniture and amenities are new, including high-quality mattresses.

Cozy wooden cabin! We loved it! It was clean warm and had a beautiful view of the lake! It had a spacious bathroom and a little cuisine! We were four and we all were comfortable! A nice little terrace and a bbq set! 

We booked a cottage for two. It is very comfortable, with a kitchen/living room, bathroom and bedroom. Nice view on the lake. The owner has been very nice with us.I suggest this location if you wou!d lime to spent some nights in Akureyri and neighbouring areas. It is close to the city center but still surrounded by a nice landscape.

My girlfriend and I spent one night in a cottage here in Skipalaekur. Right in front of the lake and surrounded by an amazing nature. The cottage is very easily reachable by car, you can park right close to it. There also a kitchen and you can cook if you want. What a wonderful view and how romantic it is!

The positives - cute A frame cottage with a lovely lake view just outside Egilsstadir, warm and clean, decent free WiFi and adequate self-catering facilities (we only made breakfast). Comfortable bed and linens, nice bathroom

The ‘negatives’ - it’s pretty small, couch is not very comfortable 

We had a nice, relaxing evening here. It’s simple but would recommend

Very comfortable cottages

What a romantic place!

Simple, cozy cottage

We spent a night in the main building just near the reception, not in a chalet. We asked for changing the room in order not to be in one next to the cafeteria. The receptionist gave us another room and was very nice and helpful. 

The room was spacious and very clean, even a bit old-fashioned, but very practical . The bedding was very comfortable. We spent a very peaceful night.

There is also a microwave at disposal of the guest.

Nice stay in the main building (not chalet)

We stayed in two rooms in one of the buildings next to the campsite and it felt very “school trip” like. The noise of other children staying in the accommodation certainly emphasised that. Bed- and bathroom are very basic and a major drawback were the curtains that let most of the light trough, not ideal in Iceland’s summer. Breakfast is OK.
