The hotel staff were extremely helpful. The room was clean and we paid for the air conditioning which we needed. The fridge was very much appreciated. The shower in our bathroom was small and extremely basic but we managed.
The breakfasts are adequate and we enjoyed them. The pool area was spacious  with a  very good  pool bar. 
I would recommend rooms overlooking the countryside on the first floor not the road or car park. There were a number of guests that had stayed here before.

Very mellow and quiet

Don't  believe  the bad reviews.  The breakfast was a good continental one. The shower was small and hand held but easily overcome. Plenty of hot water at anytime . The sheets were white and crisp and the towels white and fluffy changed regularly. All the staff were pleasant that includes the owners. Someone commented that staff should smile more at breakfast. The young girl was obviously very shy but very good at her job. The pool area was lovely  and we saw the pools being checked every day. Good meals around the pool  at reasonable prices. The walk into town  the quick way had good lighting but had to be aware of oncoming traffic until you reached the pavement  which wasn't very far. We would  certainly go again 

Loved it

Just returned from a week at the Pericles Hotel.  Staff were great, room comfortable, although shower very small.  Sami is a great base, loads of nice restaurants and bars.  Beautiful evening views over the harbour and nearest beach AntiSamos is lovely.  Hire a car if you can to explore this fantastic island

Lovely friendly staff

Hotel very basic but the price was cheep. Went with little expectation. Rooms are outdated as is the hotel. Receptionist lady was lovely.  Staff for breakfast could do with smiling.  Breakfast was OK, just. Pool was great and friendly staff. Food at the pool bar was quick and generally fine. Long walk int town but we liked that.
Now, the reason it only gets a review score of 3 is in the second week there were rats in some peoples bedrooms. Response from tui rep was, what do you expect,  its the countryside.  4 days it took to get a rat trap.
Would we go back no. However if your looking for a cheap holiday,  they get rid of the rats and you don't have mobility issues it's a decent, cheap holiday.

just came back from staying here on first arrival seemed ok no good for anybody with mobility issues  as there are no lifts and there are three floors  we were on third floor the rooms were basic and very dated proper 80s décor  as we expected from the photos the good points of the hotel were we had a fridge that was a god send and  the pool area was clean plenty of beds cant imagine what it would be like high season the barman ANDREAS and the lady who used to all the cooking unfortunately didn't get her name were very friendly and polite and the food there was great specially the club sandwiches  some of the beds were rigid plastic so all you could do was lie flat so not worth getting them there were only a few cushions to put on the beds the pool was cleaned most days the bad parts are its a bit out of the way you can walk it to the harbour but you have to walk on the road which is not good as there is coaches lorry's there is a back way ok in the day but they are country lanes don't know what its like at night   the rooms were not cleaned they used to change the towels every other day not every day even though they used to come in every day to fold the sheet they gave you the bedding was changed three times as we were leaving my wife checked under the bed and said there was something under there turned out to be two plasters and they definitely were not ours so they hadn't cleaned it properly from the last people who stayed there i know it was under the bed but still just a quick check and it would have been sorted the cupboards were never cleaned as there were stains all over doors as if someone had opened a can and it had gone all over it the bathroom was useless the shower was no good as in it was the size of a kitchen tile every time you turned round the curtain used to catch you and go with you hence all water on the floor  one day my wife said there something crawling on the floor i thought it was a leech but it turned out to be a drain worm as there was a drain on the floor to get rid of the water and the bathroom smelt damp and it was always hot in there the whole hotel could do with a re vamp to bring it up to date it looks really nice from the outside also the breakfasts was the same every day not very good not much choice i know its only 2* but i would struggle to give it 1* it was only the pool and the pool staff that saves it i know its only 2* and you pay for what you get but a few little things could have been rectified and there would have been less negative remarks last thing £10 pound a day for aircon bit of a rip off would not stay here again may be if it was updated and breakfast was updated but cost would go up 

hotel ok wouldn't go again 

Hotel and room clean and staff really helpful . No kettle in the room or a tv  or hair dryer - - my room was  a twin room. Breakfast fair - - - not a lot of choice in bread - - rolls - - or a cooked breakfast. A lot of wasps and hornets by the pool  but didn't spoil my holiday. Apparently worse in September. Sami us a beautiful place and has many good restaurants and places to visit that are close by. 

Pericles Sami 

We booked this as a last minute to explore Kefalonia and wasn’t expecting much being a 2 star, but have been pleasantly surprised, it’s basic but clean and pool area is nice enough with lovely views of the mountains. Breakfast simple but we ate every morning here. Good connection to the main road to the north and south and a steady 15 minute walk into Sami. We’ve had a wonderful holiday this has been the perfect base for us explore.

Lovely little hotel and central to explore

Stayed here at the end of June 2023. On checking in at the hotel we were advised that every time we were to leave the hotel, we must hand our room key in to reception. We thought this unusual but not a problem. 

Our party was two adults and one infant. We were given the room closest to the bar area on the ground floor. It was noisy being so close to the bar however the bar closes at midnight. The room itself was very basic and didn’t seem like it had been decorated since the hotel’s opening. The room did not have a kettle or TV, but did have a small fridge at a charge. The air conditioning was also chargeable at €10 per night. Bathroom includes shower and bath. The rooms and other areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean; towels were replaced often enough. 

Breakfast was included with the stay. The choice of items on offer was very limited - omelettes, bread, fruit and yoghurt. For the majority of our stay we chose to eat at a bakery on the seafront in Sami. 

The hotel is not pushchair or wheelchair friendly. There are a set of stairs leading up to the entrance and even a small set of stairs to access the ground floor rooms. The hotel definitely has a certain clientele - the majority of guests were over 50 yrs of age. The pool area has enough sun loungers for guests and is very quiet - at times we felt like we were disturbing the other guests with our infant in the children’s pool. There is a main pool and a smaller children’s pool. The pool bar is not reasonably priced i.e €3.50 for a can of Coke. 

The bar in the hotel closes at midnight sharp. There was no entertainment programme or music during the day or night. 

Staff were really friendly and happy to help with any queries we had. 

The walk into Sami is 15 minutes via the main road (which does not have a pavement until 10 minutes in) or 20 minutes via the back streets (also no pavement but less road traffic). We walked into Sami multiple times a day with a pushchair and found no issues. Sami is a great little town; there’s enough restaurants and other places to eat. The views over the harbour and seafront are beautiful. There is a small supermarket about 10 minutes into the walk into Sami. 

If you’re looking for a peaceful, relaxing stay, don’t mind basic rooms, don’t mind a short walk into Sami, and aren’t too fussed about choice of items for breakfast, then this hotel is ideal.

Ideal for a quiet, relaxing stay.

Nice basic but clean hotel in a quiet location  nice little get away my husband  and I stayed for 1week BB simple continental breakfast  nice dinning  areas either inside or on the terrace  . Lovely  pool area spotlessly  clean plenty of lounges  pool bar serving  ice cream  snacks  basic  meals  drinks  ect.the rooms have air conditioning  payable at 10 euros a night which I thought  was steep also 2 beers in hotel bar 10 euros. No kettle or hairdryer  but we took our own 15 minutes  walk down a country road at the back of hotel to the beautiful  harbour  with stunning  mountain views  and lovely traditional  tavernas and bars .

Great hotel   quiet location. 

Before coming out, I read a few reviews on here that made me worried, but after spending the last week here I can honestly say......eh? Did we stay in the same hotel?

Staff - all staff were friendly, especially Andros (think that's how it's spelt) behind the pool bar.

Rooms - yes they are basic but what do you expect for a 2 stat hotel?They were cleaned everyday, spotless to be honest. 

Pool area - the pool was clean and always plenty of sunbeds. Wasp, no issues there at all. 

All in all, no doubt would I come back again. Gorgeous scenery to sunbath to and a great location for a little stroll in to sami Harbour. 

Oh and just to add, if you're after a nice restaurant head and see Theo at The Mermaid.
