It was a last minute decision, but we added a quick trip to Andros while in Greece this summer. We found Idroussa online and we're so very pleased with our overall experience. The owners were very gracious hosts and took care in making sure our stay was everything we'd hoped for. They were very accommodating, made phone calls to car rental companies, provided tourist guides and truly made us feel like family. The hotel is walking distance to the beach, and the main street of restaurants and shops. We look forward to returning one day...this island is a gem of the Cycladic Islands: beautiful beaches, landscapes, friendly locals and plenty to do,  but at the same time not over run by the tourist industry. It is the perfect balance :-)

Friendly, clean and reasonable!

What to say ? We booked a 2+1 room at the price of a 2 beds room and it was big! The beds great, the kitchen has everything you need and the cleaning service is provided daily . The fact that there is an A/C and a fan is a plus to me. The only minor problem is that the tv is small, who cares but have to mention it, and that the view to the sea is obstructed by a building. But from the common balcony you have better view. A plus is that the bus stop is close. Finally the hosts are great

Great

Idroussa (or Hydroussa) is a 10 rooms family hotel located in the old part of Batsi. The rooms on the street side has a nice seaview (however the villa over the road covers a little the panorama). A big, beautiful terrace is at the upper level. The rooms are clean there is an everyday cleaning service. The hotel has also a private garage, but you can also find parking space on the street.
The beach from Batsi is reachable in 8-10 minutes walk, but we suggest you to go to other beaches outside the town, there are beautiful places at 4-8 km, Mr. George, the owner, will tell you everything about the island. A supermarket is 100 meters away, a bakery is right behind the hotel. From the hotel to the center/ the sea/ the restaurants, 3-5 minutes walk.

Horrible room and please beware of hosts- all they care about is money.

I had to flee the premises because I was threatened for my health and safety (and that is a first for me, as I am a solo traveler for far too long)

The room/furniture is over 20 years old and poorly maintained , ridiculously overpriced for the absurd lack of comfort and quality, sleeping on the floor would be more comfortable than sleeping on those beds and there was mold on the room. Of course, view was heavily obstructed as other reviews report.

Hostess was nosy (to the point of me having to hide that I am a solo traveler as a precaution), and when I was crying about being unable to sleep she told me to find another hotel among other unhelpful remarks. 

I have stayed in hostels on multiple occations and never to this day have I failed to fall asleep in a bed or felt threatened by a host via phone while requesting help (as a solo traveller) to the point of literally having to flee an island. 

I obviously left immediately, zero usage or damages of course, even took my garbage with me and the host still had the audacity to claim that I was a bad guest! For asking help and crying on the phone out of despair!  

So much for “Greek Hospitality”- never again!
