March, 2022: First off, for anyone who has not been to Prien before. Everywhere you look it is picture postcard perfect Bavarian Alps. Absolutely amazing scenery everywhere here. The Chiemsee is really big and my favorite was the late afternoon 2.5h hour boat tour near sunset that tours the entire lake. Plenty of places to rent an e-Bike and tour the lake on well groomed trails and its an amazing ride up to Gstadt for some lunch and back. 
Now, HOW to get to the hotel when you show up: if using Google maps to navigate to the hotel you'll find that its going to take you onto the "people walking zone only" street on the Scharen. Take it slow and easy and around the corner you'll see the hotel, park across the street, or if using an EV, you can park directly next to the front door! you can take the tiny entrance next to the Schiffarht entry next to Hotel Luitpold,  but it is a tight fit for any car. Kevin Urbanek and his wife who run the hotel are amazing hosts and can cater to any issues you may have. He was awesome enough to turn on the EV charger for me during our stay and it worked like a champ, best part, he only charges .38 euro a Kwh, a fantastic price vs. the Shell down in Bernau. 
As other reviewers have mentioned the breakfast is fantastic every morning and is typical Bavarian style breakfast with a few home made items that are always new and always delicious. I am jealous for any of you going during summer, you'll no doubt be able to eat out back on the garden patio and it will be lovely. 
The rooms are well appointed and we only had a micro shower in room 16, above the garden, so warning for Americans, the showers are TINY. The beds are comfy and there is plenty of closet space and drawers to pack for your stay. We had a small balcony that was great for sitting out in the sun and reading. 
The service at the hotel was fantastic and Kevin always has great advice for what to see and do in and around Prien and the Alps. The weather was absolutely gorgeous our week here and would definitely stay again. 
Minor con: like most German small hotels, there is no one to assist you after about 6pm. The front door is locked and everyone's key can unlock it, so DO NOT LOSE your room key. There is no keycard or phone app for the room, its an old school key you turn in the door. If you are used to American hotel chains that are manned at the counter 24/7, this aint that.

Excellent location, amazing service, fantastic breakfast, EV charging out front!

A very good location : on Chiemsee lake  , close to the harbour where shuttles to the Herreninsel and Fraueninsel  depart and  the beach is within walking distance .   The view on the lake was fantastic also .
The room we had  was spacious and clean ( with an  additional  bed) and a very friendly staff    .
And the breakfast ? WOW WOW WOW !   The  best breakfast I ever had ! 
A huge variety of food, all prepared by the owner.You did not know what to choose, everything looks great ! 
 We wanted initially to stay only one night , but we changed our plan and  booked the room for another night (in no small part for the breakfast).
It was an amazing stay !

The best breakfast !

Located right on Chiemsee lake, and within five minutes walking distance to the ferry for the island tours - the unassuming hotel Mowe is the biggest surprise we've had on our trip.

The room we had (15) was spacious, with a twin bed and an additional solo bed, and complimentary tea in the room. The bathroom is small but no more so than you usually find in Bavaria.

The breakfast however is what sets this place apart from the others - the buffet is amazing, with a selection of about 70 or so dishes. Other than the usual breakfast offering of cold cuts there is an assortment of dishes we've never seen offered anywhere else - including different cheese tapas, a selection of fish dishes, shrimp salad, devilled eggs with black roe and more. The dessert buffet is seperate and holds another 40 or so items, from different yoghurts and jams to cakes and treats. We were absolutely spoiled for choice and were so impressed that we actually changed our trip plan and spontaneously booked the room for another night in no small part for the breakfast.

Friendly staff wrap up an absolutely amazing stay which for the price (lower than the surroundings for the normal rooms, equal for the bigger rooms) make this place one of the absolute best we've to in the world.

Best breakfast I ever had

We spent 1 day in this hotel. Breakfast was was very good. Location is the best yoz can imagine. Close to the harbour where shuttles to the Herreninsel depart. Also the beach is within walking distance. Our room was ok, bath was very tiny. Some devices did not work and would need better maintenance. The view on the lake however was fantastic. The hotel claims that there is a fitness room, and sauna. When we booked the room it was not mentioned that currently guests cannot use them. This was disappointing.

Splendid location, maintenance could be better

Nice hotel, beautiful location,  room 11 & 12 overlook the lake, two rooms above will also overlook the lake, I don't know their numbers. Staff very very friendly,  breakfast is very nice, I would return tomorrow,  if they would have us;-) prices for food drink etc very reasonable,  Salzburg 1 hour away, all in all a great place to visit.

The service was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was power! It was also delicious. The room was cosy and affordable. My room had a great view but not all the rooms do. The bank of the lake is only 1 minute by foot.
