Hotel Zur Linde

My wife and I were in the Bavarian town of Hohenlinden for the wedding of our friend's daughter. We opted to stay at a place in the middle of the town which we found on the Internet. What a great find it turned out to be. Mary, the receptionist at the front desk, set the stage for a wonderful stay at the hotel. Aside from her excellent English, she was warm, efficient and willing to help. And we needed help since one of our bags did not follow us on our flights from LAX. Without boring anyone with the details of our lost bag situation, I have to say that Mary did her best in assisting us by making several calls trying to track our bag. She knows well the meaning of Customer Service. I also have to give a shout-out to Jeanette, the owner, who was kind to lend me a tie. I wound up attending the weeding in jeans, casual shirt and the borrowed tie since I was without my suit and tie. As for the hotel, it's a very nice, pleasant European hotel. The room was small and the shower was a tight squeeze but that's the way it is in many European hotels. The important thing was that it was clean. The breakfast was included and it was held in a lovely, nicely presented dining room with a good assortment of meats, cheeses, breads and other breakfast items. I had a little problem with the coffe maker when I pushed the button for a Cappacino but it did not affect the overall good experience. On the last day after two nights we had to store our bags in the front office while we went next door to have coffee with our friends. In the office we met Jeanette's husband, Carlo. Carlo is a friendly Italian gentleman whose photographs were displayed in the main floor. We chatted for a while and he gave us a little insight into where to travel in Italy, their personal lives and the history of the hotel all the while with his cool sounding Italiano accent. In summary, if you asked "would we stay there again"? You bet!
