We just spent St Patrick’s weekend here. 

Some of the staff are polite, helpful and work hard. Others however, have a bad attitude with no sense of urgency. I was waiting to check out at the unattended reception this morning for 10 minutes whilst the receptionist made her coffee as the queue grew longer. The reception is in clear sight of the bar where her coffee was slowly, carefully and lovingly made. 

This place gets very busy very quickly. 

The buffet style breakfast is basic but nice and fresh none the less. However, expect items of food to constantly run out without being replaced until a guest prompts a member of staff to restock.

The rooms and toilets are okay. Basic enough, but they serve their purpose.

The water pressure when showering is good but be careful as the temperature frequently fluctuates from hot to cold.

WiFi signal strength is decent.

There is an Australian barman, approximately 25 to 30 years of age who has an air of arrogance which made buying drinks from him very uncomfortable. He is unjustifiably confrontational and completely wrapped up within his own self worth. I would like to stress that his bad attitude in no way represented the other bar staff.

There is a severe lack of leadership and management at this hostel which is a shame because it has so much potential to be better if they only get the basics right.

Berlin itself however is an amazing place, steeped in history and multiculturalism.


Poor

It's a nice hostel. The receptionists are very nice. Professional caring staff. 
The price is good. It's clean. Elevator. Individual bathroom for shower with hairdryer. They have a luggage locker( but you have to pay per day. 2€ small locker/4€ big).
In front of the hostel has a train station(U bahn). It's close to Alexsander platz.
Theres a bar under the hostel. It's nice to have few drinks and to chat. 


Good price. Friendly service. 

As a first timer to the hostel scene, I obviously had my pre conceptions of what hostels were like. 

If this is what hostels are like everywhere than I will stay at them every time. 

The showers need to be renamed to jet wash as I can safely say this was the best shower I’ve ever had anywhere PERIOD. The staff could not be nicer and they are all multi lingual which is fantastic. The beds are comfy and the rooms are clean and fresh. Stayed in a 16 bed and there was little noise and could not hear the bar downstairs which obviously gets busy. 

Cheap price, great food and drink prices with 25% off and a perfect location for walking or metro to Alexanderplatz, Berlin Wall, Brandenburg gate etc. Perfect in every sense could not recommend this for young solo travellers or small groups enough. One small thing the plug sockets need to changed can be a fiddle to get the right position to charge your devices.

Could not recommend this more!!

Friends have stayed here many times and they all rate the place very highly--its great for watching all sports but particularly football and rugby shown on large and small screens the only issue being there is no sound due to continual background music --however to compensate beers are two for one plus the burgers are very acceptable A good place to meet friends and next to a U-BAHN station--very convenient.

Staff were amazing, easy to find people to chat with and great prices. They were more than accomodating to extend our stay and had events on as well as cosmic comedy below that meant there was always something to do! Food was good and so was the deals on drinks for being a guest. Book directly with their website for free breakfast and generally the best prices! 

Great experience - ended up only staying with this chain of hostels!

Our stay was TERRIBLE!

St. Cristopher was the first place we stayed at, it was the second day of a 20 days eurotrip and a backpack was STOLEN from INSIDE of our PRIVATE ROOM! 

We didn’t know that our door had a problem and even though it closed, it didn’t lock! 
Security in the hostel was a failure, somebody from the outside was able to get in the hostel and tried to open all the doors in our floor until he got to ours, which was not working properly! The reason we know exactly what happened is because the manager told us it was all on camera. 

He stole a backpack containing all of our clothes, an ipad, chargers for phones and the ipad. Our estimated LOSS is of 1.100 EUROS. 

The staff was kind dealing with what happened but thats not enough!

According to a treaty (Convention on the Liability of Hotel-keepers concerning the Property of their Guests) of which Germany is one of the participating countries, the responsible for the security inside hotels, INCLUDING inside the rooms, is the hotel! Also, by analogy, a hostel - just like a hotel - provides paid accommodation and lodging facilities usually for short term periods, so the liability is just the same, which means that in BOTH the costumer has the RIGHT TO A REFUND for the stolen items. 

None of this was done by the hostel, nor the fees we payed for our three night (terrible) stay were refunded. 

It’s such a shame not to feel safe even inside a private room, it was a terrible experience. We filed a police report on the stolen items.

STOLEN BACKPACK

Here is a list of what was absolutely bad about that hostel. nobody should ever go there. 

- uncomfortable, noisy beds
- the mattresses in the showers hurt your feet
-the breakfast is disgusting and the juice is artificial
- they are intolerant and the staff is rude
- the bar is far too expensive 
- some of our members got sick from their food
- their rooms do not have enough curtains
- the bathrooms were damaged and the hostel did not bother to fix facilities

All in all, this hostel has turned out to be,
 the worst place imaginable to stay in Berlin, a city that is known for its low prices and relaxed attitude. They are ridiculously expensive and unfriendly. Please, choose another place to stay. It's for your own good.

Trip with a student group - never again

This is a hostel, and it feels like it. for a young solo traveller, its fine, with a nice little sports bar below. Its not somewhere I'd take my partner for a weekend away. 

The staff are nice and multi-lingual and the facilities are adequate. I bunked with some guys that were friendly, and we got on. But just be aware, you may not get along with everyone!

Perfect for a group of backpackers

It's a warm bed at the end of the day

I booked for a private room, ended up getting an apartment, and the other room was not occupied. Overall, it was a brilliant stay, very comfortable, the only thing was the shower would not stay as a consistent heat, however this was just a minor problem. Would definitely recommend, good social area.

Great Location, and friendly staff

Huge hostel where we felt mass processed. We booked a double room for 2 nights. Due to a renovation we had to change rooms after the first night. We had to leave the first room at usual check-out time (11) and then had to wait for 3 hours before we could go to the next room. As a compensation we were offered free breakfast, but was nevertheless a bit unconvinient and inflexible. Both rooms were comfy and had a clean bathroom, which was shared with only 1 other room. Good location with nice view at the Volksbühne. There is a big bar downstairs.
