The rooms are good, a bit basic but it is a guesthouse after all. Aircon in the rooms but no fridge or TV. If you want all the amenities then stay at a major hotel but don’t complain when they aren’t there in a guesthouse if you’re paying such a cheap rate. Staff are all friendly. Yes it is a bit of a short steep hill in the dark to climb at the end so wouldn’t recommend for someone with limited mobility but it felt safe to me. Biggest plus is the free transfer service to the airport or ferry terminal. It’ll cost about $20 to the ferry and $30 to the airport if you go yourself with luggage based on local taxi fixed rate fares. Tip for cruise passengers - they don’t pick up from the cruise terminal but it’s a couple of mins walk if that to the ferry terminal where they do pick up from. Email them with a ferry time for Terevau or Aremeti from their website schedules and walk over there and they’ll pick you up or drop off. When we go back we’ll definitely stay there again.
