Lovely experience in this peaceful and quiet environment.  Good quality for the price.  And Florian is a super host who made us feel very much at home in his old land house. 
He knows the area well and we fortunately followed his recommendations to explore the area and enjoy good food - both did not disappoint, quite on the contrary, we had a very nice experience as a result.  Unfortunately our stay was a bit short but we could have enjoyed this old land house and the pool a bit longer. There is also much more to explore in the beautiful l’aude region.

Very nice and homely stay in ancient land house close to Carcassonne

We arrived in the afternoon and we're greeted by the lovely host, Florian. He took us for a quick tour of the old building and it's lovely rooms.

After packing up, we enjoyed a beer and glass of wine by the pool. The manager informed us that the pool was at 28 degrees year round, if you want to come during the year when it's not as warm.

The beds were comfortable, the rooms spacious, lovely breakfast, but above all - the welcoming and service was great! Thank you! 

A lovely gem close to Carcassonne

This visit was wonderful. We booked this hotel so we could be near Carcasonne and still have a more private experience as a family. Florian made us feel like it was our home, and we spent much more time at the chateau than we planned because of how friendly it felt. The breakfast was wonderful - we certainly filled up before our trip home. Thanks for a great time. 

What a great find!

We had a lovely stay here. The house and rooms are wonderful and beautifully decorated. Florian is a fantastic host - nothing was too much trouble. Caters for kids well with the pool - 13 year old said it was the best place he had stayed! Best breakfast we’ve had for a while. We’ll be back.

Fantastic family stay

My partner and I stayed at La Maison Du Trapel for seven nights and we had a wonderful time. Florian is absolutely the best hotel host we have ever had. Nothing was too much trouble, he was always charming and good-humoured, and he made sure that everything was perfect for us. The hotel is beautiful and our room was spacious and light with the most comfortable bed and stunning views overlooking the large gardens and park. Our bathroom was large and light too and has a marble bath and separate shower. There's a heated swimming pool and Florian always makes sure that it's exactly the right temperature. He provides a delicious breakfast with pastries, fruit, cheeses and ham, and he's always ready to make suggestions for places to eat and visit. I can't recommend La Maison Du Trapel highly enough. It's really delightful. We'll be back!

A wonderful stay and a perfect host

The location, the house, the pool, the rooms and the owner are excellent. We never felt so welcome as at this beautiful villa with Florian.

Excellent hospitality and service

My husband and I recently spent a week in this beautiful chateau.  Wow - what an amazing holiday we had!  The chateau is approx 20 mins from the airport and just outside the beautiful city of Carcassonne.  Catherine and Christophe are the perfect hosts, welcoming and informative (but not in the least intrusive.)  Rooms are exceptional and the grounds extensive and very well maintained, as is the swimming pool.   The location is perfect for exploring the Black Mountains to the north, the foothills of the Pyrenees to the south, the coast around Narbonne, and the many fortified hill villages in the area.  We loved everything, and should we be fortunate enough to travel to that area again, the chateau would be our first choice of accommodation. Thank you Catherine and Christophe for letting us share your beautiful home.

Beautiful chateau and fantastic hosts.

We have recently returned from a two-week family holiday in this fantastic château.  We took over the whole West Wing on a self-catering basis and could not have wished for a better experience.  Everything we needed had been provided, and our hosts, Christophe and Catherine, could not have been more welcoming and generous;   they were always on hand to give us the benefit of their local knowledge if required, and yet were never intrusive.   

The château is obviously a labour of love for them – each room is tastefully decorated to extremely high standards and the grounds and pool are immaculate.  The Domaine caters for every need – it is an oasis of calm and relaxation for those who need it, whilst being close to Carcassonne and its airport, a short drive to the Canal du Midi and about 45 minutes to an hour’s drive from the beaches of the Mediterranean.  

The swimming pool is excellent and a very good size.  The garden is beautiful and  trees on the estate are fantastic-including one which is 260 years' old!

We would not hesitate to recommend it – and have in fact already done so – and would love to return on a future occasion.  Thank you Caroline and Christophe for making it such a great holiday for us all.

Fabulous Chateau in beautiful setting

This was amazing. We stayed in the VIP room and it was so great. Christophe looked after us like family and made our stay amazing. Would recommend to anyone who likes a peaceful stay yet 10mins from Carcassonne or nice restaurants in Trebes.

Will definitely be back!

Beautiful, friendly and peaceful!

We stayed for 2 nights and our hosts Catherine and Christophe were perfectly enchanting. Thy helpfully suggested a great fine dining place in Trebes along the waterfront as well as 
simpler fare in the same general area along the Canal du Midi  The room was a beautiful and 
clean with a massive bathroom about the size of some of the hotel rooms in Paris. For a couple of days, we experienced what gentrified living must have been like in the past.If you are in the area, this is a must location for your stay. You will not be disappointed.

The only problem I had  was my own fault for not using the directions from their website. Do not trust your GPS. Make sure you use the instructions from the website.  Also keep in mind the Credit Cards are NOT accepted.
