Château de Tanay B&B

This was our second stay at this property and this time we shared some days with friends we encouraged to join us. They were thoroughly enthralled as we were. Benoit and Mihi, our hosts are so welcoming that you really feel that you’re staying with friends. Lodging is comfortable with rooms in the converted stables alongside the castle where only our hosts stay. There is only accommodation for 20 including a family little gite so you really feel special. The grounds and garden are vast for beautiful walks including a nice sized swimming pool. The castle’s lounge is what you would imagine : elegant and cozy. Unfortunately it’s closed at 10PM as it would be nice to spend some time there after dinner out. Breakfast is served outdoors by the castle walls in the garden or in a lovely room if necessary. A lovely choice of cheeses, fruits, homemade jams, croissants, etc are available but no eggs unfortunately. There is a nice choice of restaurants within a few kilometers . The hosts have good suggestions as well as for daily tours especially in the Beaujolais region. All in all , it’s a very special place that you would want to return to. Careful...... only opened 6 months a year.
