Great location within easy walking distance of Old Tours. No parking but on the street it’s metered and ab easy downloadable app. Or a little further down the road it’s free !
Delightful reception lady - very helpful in booking meals . Monday pm a bit of a nightmare as lord if places closed. 
Room very quaint and clean and super comfy beds.
Nice dining room for breakfast and great breads.

Delightful hotel

We were greeted by Mathew, very charming introduction to the hotel!
Mathew gave us wonderful suggestions about the town and was very nformative .
Our room was clean and the the breakfast was very nice! We really enjoyed our stay at Val de Loire!

Great hotel, Great Location

We spent 8 nights at the Hotel Val de Loire while visiting chateaus in the Loire Valley. Tours is centrally located and, if you are using public transportation like we were, this hotel is ideally located practically next door to the train station, as well as the Tourist Information Office.

When we rented a car for a couple of days for particular visits, we easily found parking on the street, free between 6:30 pm and 9:00 am, at which time we could run out and pay for whatever additional time we needed.

The staff were all very helpful. I had communicated with Miriam, Miurika, and Eva beforehand, and also met Marianne. Whoever was on duty at any time I needed something was always accommodating and generous.

The room and common areas were spotlessly clean, and the room was serviced daily by pleasant and helpful cleaning women.

Our room was one of the less expensive ones, I believe, at 68€/night. The double or queen bed (I’m not sure, but it was more than adequate!) was comfortable. I have a sense that each room may be different, but ours was quite charming, spacious, and included an armoire with some shelf space and hangers (I like to unpack). There was a desk, a small table, comfortable chairs, a mantle shelf over a fireplace (not for use), and several lamps in addition to the overhead fixture, providing very good lighting. Our room was street-side, and it’s an urban area with considerable traffic noise, so, if that bothers you, you might want to request a court-side room. Our en-suite bathroom had what is probably an energy-efficient modern toilet: it made a very loud and surprising whooshing noise when flushed.

Be aware there is no elevator. I have some mobility limitations but managed the staircase to our second floor (third floor, in U.S. usage) with no problem.

We were in Tours during perfect weather, needing neither heat nor cooling, but I can imagine the room could get quite warm in summer. I understand that there is no AC, but you can request a fan.

Breakfast was an additional 9,50€/person and was well worth it! Besides coffee, tea, fruit juices, and a basket of many breads and croissant, there were cereals, applesauce, yogurts, meat, several types of cheese, jams, honey, Nutella, and fresh fruit!

Convenient, lovely, with helpful staff

This is a charming little hotel right in the centre of Tours. We were there when the temperature was on the 30s, we had a room with a door onto a little courtyard which was very comfortable. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The staff were all very helpful and friendly.

Perfect location

Coming from Paris for a week this hotel was a great way to relax and enjoy Tours! The rooms are adorable and have a classic charm. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s the perfect place to stay because it is nice and close to the train station along with the rest of the town. 

Cute hotel in great location!

We came with a small group of students from CA and loved this hotel. Super cute and roomy bedrooms. So close to the train station, restaurants, churches to visit and old Tours. The owner is super sweet. The front desk ladies helped us find places to eat.

Great hotel in the center of everything

We stayed for one night with breakfast and it was very good. Absolutely recommended. Mme Salas is a wonderful host, super-friendly and she recommended a good Italian restaurant in town. The breakfast was great with lots of different breads and musli choices. The room was large and our toilet was one step outside of the actual room but that didn't bother us at all. We would come here again!

Very friendly, clean and value for the money

After soaking from 18hours flight, and with almost 3hours of driving from CDG airport, this hotel welcome us with warm and great room. We upgraded the room to the better one, because we are carrying 2 big bags, so it is easier for us to climb 1 level stair rather than 3level. the hotel is nice, clean and i would say great, even it is an old building, but this is what authentic Europe experience about. We love our stay at tours, and this hotel make it perfect with warm welcoming and fast check-in and check-out.

Great stay on our first night at #europetrip2019

We spent one night at the Hotel Val de Loire and enjoyed every minute of our stay there!

The location is hard to beat!  We arrived on a train from Paris, walked out of the Gare de Tours, turned a corner and there was our hotel!   Across the street is a tourist office where we stopped to get maps.  All of the historic sights are within easy walking distance.  The location was perfect!

Our room was fine, at the top of a short flight of stairs.  We had a view of the street outside.

Breakfast was also exactly what we expected.  Delicious cappuchino, flakey croiissants,  crunch baguettes, etc.  The breakfast room is in what was a small but elegant parlor and while sipping coffee, one wonders about the stories the room could tell if it could talk!

While the location is great, the best thing about the hotel is Guillermo, the person who greeted us and was present during our stay.  He is what made our stay so memorable!  To start off, he speaks perfect, unaccented English so it was very easy to converse with him.  He took time to answer our questions and offer helpful suggestions to make our short stay there special.  He gave us a run-down of the “must see” places and pointed out a place along the river where we could stop, get refreshment, sit at a table and enjoy the Tours experience!   We were there on a Sunday when many restaurants were closed - he told us where to go to find several places that were open!  Although we had only known him for a very short time, when we left we felt like we were leaving an old friend!

We enjoyed our brief stay at the Hotel Val de Loire and hope that if you decide to chose this hotel that you will enjoy your stay as much as we did!

A Special Location and a Special Person!

Lovely old house very centrally located for station, Old Tours, restaurants on leafy boulevard.
We stayed in the very large family room overlooking the garden which fortunately had wooden shutters protecting against the hot sun.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned daily
It was exceptionally hot weather so we had a large fan on when indoors. I think only one room in the hotel has actual air conditioning 
The stairs which go up three floors were quite steep, so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems
