I just got back from a trip to Pax hotel Rue Simart. The hotel was cheap, only 71 pounds for a two night stay. The room was on the sixth floor with no elevator. It was very warm, the bed was adequate and clean. The bathroom was a bit dirty and needs doing up. The room was small. For the price the hotel was good. The receptionist was very helpful.  This is a quick walk to Chateau Rouge line 4 of the metro. No kettle in the room and you need to hand in your key card if leaving the hotel.
 A gentle walk from the train station to the hotel. The traffic is bad and you need to be careful.

Pax hotel/ amarys

Busy good location near the metro but would not return as my room was infested with cockroach’s. Although I was moved to a different room it blighted my stay. I did not expect this for the price I paid.

The hotel room was really small but clean but the bathroom looked like it was falling apart and extremely cramped  if you are very tall you'd have a hard time closing the bathroom door whilst using it. There is free WiFi but the room TV did not work was very noisy and hard to get any sleep people kept running up and down the stairs and along the corridor late hours and early morning usually between 12:am and 3am no common courtesy shown for other hotel users and talking very loudly at the same time. What makes it a shame is that the staff are really nice and friendly,but I would not stay here again. Taking into account also that it is a old building but something simple like carpet on the wooden stairs would help negate noise. 

My Stay at PAX 

First of all Hotel Amarys is cheap and only rated one star, so don't expect luxury! 

My partner and I booked this hotel as part of our inter railing trip around Europe. Paris was our first stop. 

If you are looking for a hotel that is very cheap and basic, a short metro journey from Paris centre and zero luxuries then look else where! 

In the short space of three nights we were there, twenty things either were wrong or went wrong with the hotel. 

Here is a list...
1. On arrival to the room there was DIY equipment and plastic sheeting in the corridor. 
2. There was a wardrobe and mattress in hall from someone's room with stains on. 
3. When we tried to get in the room the door card didn't work and wouldn't open the door. 
4. After the door card was sorted and we entered the room, the main light didn't work. 
5. The next apparent issue was the overpowering smell of paint, enough to cause headaches. 
6. This smell of paint was because all the room had been painted recently and had not had time to dry and air properly, resulting in all the walls to be sticky.  
7. This made all of the bedding damp
8. A more serious issue however were the live wires next to the pillow of one of the beds. 
9. There was no safe in the room, no hairdryer even though the website promised both. 10. There was no TV remote but it did have a TV that did work, surprisingly! 
11. Both of the beds were broken, which made sleeping very uncomfortable.
12. The walls in the hotel were very thin, which meant you could here every small sound in the whole building.
13. This resulted in us being woken up by cleaners early in the morning by their site radio. 
14. The pipes leaked a lot of water in bathroom, causing a disgusting damp smell in linger. 
15. Not helped by the extracted fan being broken. 
16. The bathroom door won't shut either
17. The small wardrobe was broken and nearly fell on my partner when she opened it. 
18. On the 2nd day there was no running water in our room. 
19. After coming back to the hotel to find our beds had been made, they had been changed for dirty sheets, as stains were found on the pillow & sheets. 
20. The last problem are the crazy stairs which are worth a stay themselves. 

All in all it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, we were expecting it to be basic due to the rating and price, but not this bad. 

My advice would be look elsewhere!

Absolute hell

Except the cleaning staff this place in my opinion is good for nothing from our 3 nights stay.

My first impression wasnt good at all, as we reached around 11am in the morning receptionist wasnt welcoming at all. We knew that checkin time was at 2pm,but we asked him for a favour just to drop our bags just to go for a walk around, he refused. It was very strange and weird reaction i ever received from any of the hotel staff anywhere ever till now.

None of the staff over reception was welcoming at all i would say.

The hotel was under renovation, every passage we had to cross evrytime was terrible. 

Staircase are terrible and no lift.

Another worst part you have to tolerate every little noise from rooms around you. Noises are unavoidable to have nice sleep.

Bathrooms was disaster again but room seemed to be renovated so ok.

Only good point is its very close to metro stations and the cleaning staff is really commendable, everynight when we returned back room was so cleaned,well arranged and with new linens and towels everyday.

So, think twice before booking, you may get better options with similar prices.

Worst stay i have ever experienced.

It's close to midnight.  They (not sure who) is slamming doors and windows now for at least 30 minutes.  They screwed up the reservation I made with them.  They printed it out so they had to find me a room.  They put me on the 6th floor...no elevator.  The noise is still going on.  I seldom give a poor rating to a restaurant or hotel but this one is it.  It's the worst I've ever had to put up with.
The party next door seems to be raging 12:40 AM and no management in sight.

Nightmare

My fourth stay in Hotel Amarys Simart was terrible. The first three stays in 2011, 2013 and 2014 were okay. I always stay there for business. Bedbugs! I complained but the hotel staff even accused me of bringing the bugs. I have to wait for the cleaning ladies for 5 hours until they finished cleaning all the other rooms before they clean mine at Room 28. They did not even change the bedding daily even though they see all the tiny blood spots in the sheets. They simply turned the the sheets over so that it will not be visible but when I inspected the undersides, it's still the same sheet. I washed and dried all my clothes and threw away everything that touched the bed so that I won't bring the bugs with me. I even have video documentation of the terrible experience. I have been to a lot of hotels in so many places and this is the worst. It's a disgusting experience and won't book there anymore in the future.
